I could see Kliff being a decent OC in the NFL, but the Cardinals are going to regret hiring him as a head coach. He couldn't even win at Texas Tech. This is a bad hire.
I'm interested to see how it works out. He's basically a glorified OC with a head coach paycheck now. If they hire a great DC they might be just fine.
NFL success depends so much more on your front office and how they structure the team than on how good the HC is. Good organizations with average coaches win more than bad organizations with better coaches.
Kliff wont have to worry about recruiting to Lubbock Texas anymore, and he won't have to worry about much more than the offense and can defer to his assistants for defensive calls.
He might do better there than at TTU, but I think it all depends on the GM.
