Any one have direct quotes from Campbell on what he plans to build here at Iowa State? I officially believe he is a man of his word. Next step is reading the quotes so I know what he plans to do.

LOL. I said that Campbell is making very good money now. Others said we needed to be at $5 million for Campbell or more. I said there may be considerations other than raising Campbell’s salary. Campbell made the right call in saying that he was willing to add another year to his contract if assistants get an increase. Campbell has their back. Campbell is pretty well satisfied with his money. Now it is all about making the program stronger. Raising pay of assistants is huge for continuity. Pollard once again shows how he is way out front on keeping Campbell happy. Enjoy the ride.

Imagine the loyalty that brings to Campbell from his assistants also. You have a guy who could have demanded a chunk more money from the University and kept it for himself, and instead told the university that he just wanted his people taken care of. If I had a boss like that, I'd think twice about leaving when someone else with deeper pockets came knocking. Working for a leader like that is hard to put a price on.

Build a championship team. He’s said it many times.

Am I the only one who already assumed this to be the case for a long time now?

The idea that Campbell was going to quickly move on from ISU was built on the assumption that ISU has no money, no facilities, no support, and no chance of winning. We know all of those assumptions come from a perception built in the '90s and don't reflect what is currently happening at ISU. But it's still the dominant perception in the mainstream college football media and sour Hawkeye circles.

"Our staff is committed to raising this program to a championship level and it's important for our team, our fans and prospective Cyclones to know that we are fully invested in the future of Iowa State football," Campbell said in a statement. "I have so much appreciation for what our guys have accomplished in three years and I'm really excited to see what lies ahead for our football team and the most loyal and remarkable fans in the nation."

Looks like he plans to build a championship level program and is pretty committed on doing that at Iowa State. Or are you searching deeper than this?

Glad to hear about the contract extension and extra $ for coaches. Now, get ready for the big increase in ticket prices.

Ha, true.
I think most will pay an extra bit to watch the culture/results/players CMC has brought to Ames in 3 short years rather than keep the prices of the Gene Chizik era...

Most importantly it is important for JP to invest in the coaching staff and facilities and to reward the success the program is having under CMC.

I think Campbell will be in Ames for a while but if a dream job does come calling having a winning tradition and shown an willingness to fully support coaches in facilities and resources will help get a worthy replacement. Not to mention setting this all up in case Conference Armageddon once again happens, no ISU will be a desired team to add as opposed to one that could be left out of the major leagues.

25 bucks on season tickets would get you $1 MM on 40k tickets. Iowa is coming this year also. So we can drill those numbnuts for an extra 50 bucks a ticket.

IMO Iowa State has to be careful with the increase in ticket prices. There are a lot of lessons we can learn from TOE... Don't ruin the family experience that Jack Trice offers.

JP is very aware of this. Hopefully, JP is seeing a bump in donations with this success.

Our TV revenue is expected to jump about 4 MM dollars this year on the conference side. That should help offset a bunch of this. JP has seemed to be a type to spend last years money this year while things are increasing. So we always have a couple mil extra every year coming in. Nice position to be in.
