I'm feeling more and more confident that Campbell has a genuine interest in becoming our Bill Snyder. That said, I'm also starting to believe that the biggest variable in that equation may be Pollard and how long he remains at ISU.

Quirks aside, I've always thought JP was one of the best ADs we've ever had. Campbell fans who are still lukewarm on JP should go all in, in my opinion.

Coach Campbell is indeed cut from different cloth than most in the high major college football coaching profession. Apparently he reveres long tenured coaches who have built something, which I hope means great things for Iowa State.

He has talked about the admiration he has for the likes of Snyder, Patterson, and Ferentz. Guys who have taken schools and built something that is their own, and stayed when others came calling. It is rare to find someone who A) wants to build something, and B) stick around to enjoy the fruits.

Campbell has said from day one the goal is to build a program to compete for championships. I took it initially as coach speak, but he's consistently said the same thing and I'm starting to lean towards believing him. At least I'm allowing myself the dream that he may be ISU's version of Snyder or Patterson.

So glad Pollard brought him here, and is working to keep him and his group of assistants in Ames for as long as we can. I'll continue to show up and do my part as a fan, even if there are seasons where we don't live up to expectations.

Are there many actual Iowa State fans that aren’t fans of pollard?

Of course Campbell staying depends on pollard staying. I believe the buyout is much less if pollard is not AD.

JP is great. Campbell is great. And the real reason why Iowa State got the Alamo Bowl over West Virginia was the great support of Cyclone Nation. Look at the ticket sales. Enjoy the ride.

I think you missed my point. Yeah, we knew Pollard was a factor in Campbell's long term plans at ISU. My point was that I'm starting to think it's THE factor. All of the worry on here relates to other coaching opportunities. I think we should be more interested in Pollard's future, and what THAT means for Campbell.

As for Cyclone fans who are lukewarm on Pollard (or even dislike him), I know plenty of them. I disagree strongy with their perspective, but they exist.

Keeping the family atmosphere at JTS is important, but the only way to offset a ticket price hike is people voluntarily stepping in to make up the difference with donations, and even then, if the product is better, an increase in the want for tickets necessitates an increase in price.

Lets get the corners filled up for all home games first. I don't mind a ticket price increase, but affordability means more young people get the full Cyclone gameday experience and pays dividends down the line.

I don't know a single person that has a problem with Pollard. At least enough to mention it. I think it would have to be personal to have any merit.
