I'm going to make a blanket statement that applies to absolutely every level of football from freshman HS to NFL. If your nose tackle gets called for defensive holding on a rushing play, you're getting screwed over by the refs, you're 100% going to lose the game, and 100% of the time you're going to lose having WAY more penalties than your opponent and it's 99.8% of the time going to be a road game.

In that scenario, fire every single ref, leave whatever sht conference you find yourself stuck in and flip the double bird on your way out.
The only TT penalty that shouldn’t have been called was that roughing the passer when the guy had Purdy around the legs. That one was weird. However, it didn’t amount to anything besides ISU punting.

That being said, don’t ever complain about officiating to ISU. ISU has been on the wrong end of bad calls more than any other team in the conference by a wide margin.

Not at all, but I will say I was pretty confused by the defensive holding call on a run.

I appreciate your reply. I don't think there has ever been a football team that has ever had that call go against them that has ever won the game. When your nose tackle gets called for defensive holding, you're going to the game 100% of the time.

This is simply a question to determine intelligence. Did Butler pushoff at any point in this game??

Did you watch the entire progression of hand jockeying between he and your DB on every pass play? It goes both ways. BTW, I am not saying Butler did or did not push off - but there is always a lot of grabbing and pushing between WR & DB on most routes. Also, how many dropped passes did ISU have? To say that a pushoff by Hakeem was the difference between winning and losing (if that is, indeed, what you are implying) is simply NOT true. ISU played an uncharacteristically unsound game. Some of that was TTU & some of that was head-scratching bone-headed plays. TTU just was not able to take advantage of the gaffes because of their own gaffes (Bowan's 3 Ints & fumbled snap which led to the intentional grounding). Good luck to you the rest of the way.

I agree. I had visions of KSU 2015 in my head at some points in the 4th quarter, but the Cyclones made plays on both sides of the ball down the stretch. I'm going to go ahead and chalk that up to a culture change.
I actually started a text to a friend that was going to say The Butler did it to seal the game. Then I looked at the clock and realized there was still 2+ minutes left and deleted it. Nut cup put back firmly in place to root on the defense.

Going to take a litlle more time for the PTSD to subside and be able to enjoy the final moments of a game...

Go for it. I'm sure the Mountain West will be happy to snag Taco Tech. Nearly any team the Big 12 adds in your place will up the overall conference academics.

Defensive holding can happen for anyone, anytime.

Tech was allowed to hold on the outside in pass plays so it evened out.

Simply a question to determine the intelligence of the Iowa State fan base. Do you think the penalties were even in this game, as you clearly stated???

Simple question to determine your intelligence in whether I should debate you or not. Have you ever seen a legitimate nose tackle hold on a run????

Yes, Butler pushed off with all his power. He committed PI on every catch he had. ISU was offsides at least 10 times and it was never called. ISU held on every running and pass play. If the refs call an even game, Tech wins 49-3. In fact, ISU should be 0-7, but the refs have given them every win this season. Tech should be 8-0 but the refs have robbed them in every loss so far.

There, is that want you are wanting to hear?? Feel better now??? Did I pass your intelligence test? Am I worthy of TT fans approval?!?!

Since you didn't address the defensive holding by Tech's nose tackle, you failed.
