In the last 10 years, NW has averaged 7.8 wins per year, ISU has averaged 4.5. In the same 10 years, Northwestern has had 13 guys play multiple years in the NFL, ISU 6. Their facilities have at least caught up, their coach is about as good as there is in college football and he's not going anywhere for a long time. Oh, and the degree from NW is priceless if the kid can handle it and they can be in the Chicagoland area at one of the more beautiful campuses in the country. So I get where some may think that's crazy talk, but NW is not some slack program nor would it be anything but a great choice for a recruit, especially one who fits their mold on the academic side.

Valid points. But have you ever been to Ryan Field? It's like Kingston Stadium (CR) with nicer foliage. Maybe playing in an actual college football stadium factored in.

Too bad that great academic school doesn't offer an undergrad business degree, which is what made Brock eliminate them.

It took me a minute to recognize the significance of what was happening there. Our four-star football recruit was keeping up with a five-star basketball recruit. Truly impressive!

When was the last time somebody was a serious contributor for both teams?

:)

Yeah, that made me cringe. He just had to put a little bit of doubt in our minds, didn’t he

Cringe about what? Kid could lock himself away from the outside world from this point all the way to signing day and it still wouldn't be correct to say anything concrete either way.

You'd think if he wanted the recruiting process to stop he would not say it that way, but perhaps he didn't mean a thing by it. I think his commitment is as solid as anyone else.

Guys that article could basically be summed up with “Brock has seen the flash of the recruiting process and really really loves Iowa state”. It’s a freaking love letter to Matt Campbell and the process.

Anyone who worries one second over the last sentence is beyond stupid.

I worried for two seconds. I guess that makes me well beyond stupid.

I am not a fan of the 3rd to last word in that article.
Eh I wouldn’t get worked up overtime it. Recruiting is fluid, things change on his end, things change on ISU’s end. Him saying he would never change his mind might close doors if him and ISU don’t pan out. I feel confident about him coming to ISU but nothing is 100% in the bag until we receive his LOI.

Indirectly, but I'm kinda put off by how little they actually talk about his interactions with ISU. Maybe they already wrote that story. I don't care what they want to write as long as guy's like Brock want in and the Process continues.

I’ve followed recruiting for a looooong time. I’m not going to consider anything set in stone, really get my hopes up, until the semester starts and he’s in the Herd Book.

Umm...is the Herd Book still a thing? Maybe I should have said “online directory”. :D
