Brock and Hall are both really physical runners. DBs in the Big 12 are in for a bruising.

"Plus, losing a recruiting battle to Iowa State is puzzling. The Cyclones already had a running back commit, and they haven’t been nearly as successful as Northwestern in recent years. They also don’t have, you know, the nicest facility in college football opening up this summer. We’ll never know exactly why Brock made the decision, but, from an outsiders perspective, it’s at least a little bit weird."

Nothing against Northwestern, they do a lot with what they have, but a lot of their success is due to the fact that the Big 10 west is just plain awful. They certainly have had more success than ISU in the last 2 decades, but let's not confuse them with Bama. Also, pretty hard to believe that NW has the nicest facilities in college football. Maybe he should have gone with better facilities than ISU.

I think the facilities comment is based on them about to open up their new facility on the Lake. It is beautiful. But Chicagoans place a lot of weight in the lake-side appeal, where as idk if recruits are going to be signing on their visit because of the views haha

In the last 10 years, NW has averaged 7.8 wins per year, ISU has averaged 4.5. In the same 10 years, Northwestern has had 13 guys play multiple years in the NFL, ISU 6. Their facilities have at least caught up, their coach is about as good as there is in college football and he's not going anywhere for a long time. Oh, and the degree from NW is priceless if the kid can handle it and they can be in the Chicagoland area at one of the more beautiful campuses in the country. So I get where some may think that's crazy talk, but NW is not some slack program nor would it be anything but a great choice for a recruit, especially one who fits their mold on the academic side.

CMC is saying the same thing about Iowa State.

Evanston is a great mix of Chicago and "Chicago"! On the lakefront. Just a train ride from downtown, but a nice town in itself. Fantastic restaurants, but not overrun by tourists. Yet, it is no Ames! Home of "the Process."

Was drinking beer at neighbor's house the other night. Hawk fan/UNI grad, you know the drill. Without me even bringing it up he says, "How in the **** does Iowa State get a 4-star running back. Seriously, how is that even possible?"

Yawn.........

I attended a camp at NW about 10 years ago. It is a nice campus and a Evanston is a really cool town. The beach right on campus is beautiful.

Should be some great wind sailing, rowing, and winter surfing out there to really reel in the CFB recruits.

I wonder if Lou Ayeni is having any second thoughts about leaving. He is missing out on a great RB room, not just this year, but for future years too.

If I'm a player or a recruit at a historically mediocre football school, I'd rather go to the school with a full stadium, a fanbase that travels really well to far away schools like Texas and WV, and completely over takes bowl game towns, than a school that's got a nice view in a pro sports city.
Now, if it's an academic thing, I get it.
