Good location. Is anything moved into the old +39 space yet?
I went to Django in its last week and found out from the bartender there that they were looking at the Sculpture Park area , contrary to a rumor that I heard in the office that they were moving to the Goldfinch location, and assumed they were moving into the old +39 location. This news derailed that theory but I'm glad it's still nearby.

Definitely excited for this as they have a couple dishes you can't really get anywhere else in town.

Hope the atmosphere is cool as I enjoyed the atmosphere at its previous location.

I'd be interested to see how much the lighting will change the atmosphere. I went to Magnolia Wine Kitchen for lunch because they doing some lunch special and thought it was a neat place, just didn't think much of the food.

Gotta figure something will go in there pretty soon. That could be a prime lunch spot, especially once the new Kum and Go HQ building opens up just across the sculpture park.

I think I read somewhere that Django was definitely looking to stay near the core of downtown (i.e....as opposed to moving to the East Village or out of downtown) as lunchtime is a big part of their business. As to the new K & G headquarters, it will also have space for a new restaurant on the ground floor.

Next restaurant here needs to:

1) get rid of the dark, reflective glass. You're a restaurant, not a Dr's Office. You want people to be able to see in and be drawn to what is going on inside....especially in an urban environment.

2) get some decent signage. Major pet peeve of mine when places punt on this. Granted, better windows will help, but if you want people to find you, a great sign will attract attention.

3) upgrade the patio space. 39+ treated the patio as an afterthought...or at least that was the impression one got looking at it.

Two new ones I've heard about recently -

Des Moines is finally getting a Brazilian steakhouse that will be located in the Soll apartment building near the intersection of Ingersoll and MLK.

And there's no link for this that I've seen, but driving through Windsor Heights the other day I saw a sign on the entrance for The Last Stand. There's a Puerto Rican restaurant going in there at some point in the near future.

I miss Guru, I really liked their food. Looking forward to trying this place out as I prefer Texas Style BBQ to Kansas City. You can't find real good brisket in DSM currently, unless you make it at home.

If your into Texas BBQ, there is also a place opening I think June 6th in Ankeny called Taste of Texas in Iowa. I had some of their food for their soft opening over the weekend and it was pretty damn good. You can also order your brisket moist or lean, which is very common in texas, but not here in Iowa.

I hang out at the bar across the road from this location. They are getting that building fixed up. Right on the bike path meet norwalk

Guru had some incredible sauces. I think they could bottle and sell them in stores.
Can't imagine the rent in that building is cheap.

Outskirtz? They get a pizza truck in the lot once in a while that's good.
