You sure about that?

Or...maybe the parent would be happy that a coach didn't send their son out there at half speed because of an injury in a blow out win. Holloway is injured but was there to wrestle to try and keep it at a decision if the dual was close. It wasn't, so he didn't have to go. Tom protecting his guy from further injury.

Why weigh in an injured kid? Pretty positive I saw Wilcke there too but I guess it could have been just another struggling wrestler

Honestly with the way the rest of the ISU guys were prepared even an injured Holloway probably would've gotten a major. Could be Brands being a good sport and not wanting to blank KD and figuring this would be a sure 6 he could get.

Somehow I doubt Brands thought the meet would be decided by extra points at 197.

I highly doubt it. Now being able to say they shut ISU out in wrestled matches, sounds more like Tommy Boy.

I watched both pressers. Funny how Brands only mentioned the 197 guy with the flu, and not the other guy who weighed in. Also Dresser's 7-11 comment was not a put doewn of his own guy, rather Tommy Boy's gutless move to forfeit a match in the rivalry.

Simmons and Parker were both favored and ended up looking soft and really poorly conditioned. But whatever.

That's Simmons all year and Parker hasn't wrestled for a while and is coming off a knee scope. I predicted 6 points and was right at least. Didn't think it would come from Brands showing his true color but it is what it is

Merciful. Agree.

Ok side note, why was the Iowa dual so late this year and not in December? Very strange for Iowa to be the last dual before Big XII conference tournament.

Just like the good old days. Of course, that was when the teams were facing off twice per season.

those who think dresser disrespects sinjin are completely out of loop. Remember, this is D1 wrestling, not all "butterflies and daisies". I love it, Zaddick at Sukup was epic. The only thing i thought was bush is that the Hawks even hijacked our halftime. We have a long way to go but have the right guys at helm.

Can you share what Zaddick said at Sukup?

Wilcke didn't make the trip. Some guys can wrestle hurt if the team needs them. For example, 133, 141, 174, 184 could have went the other way on paper. A hurt Holloway does not beat Colbray but maybe he keeps it to 3. Dresser has bigger fish to fry than questioning Brands's decision. BTW, didn't you guys just forfeit three matches in a row at 141? Were all the backups run off or was 7-11 only good for filling one weight? ;)

For those thinking that Dresser and co are the wrong choice, hang on a bit. He has a fixation with Iowa and Brands that is not a good look. They sound like jilted ex's. However, I think he and the staff will be fine in the long run. I've spoken with Tom at practice...haven't heard him say a bad word about those guys even if the same isn't reciprocated.

IIRC, didn't the date need to be moved to schedule the new Big 12 wrestling members?

The original version of the schedule had ISU/Iowa on Dec. 9 and ISU/Wyoming in February. Then the B1G scheduled Iowa/Rutgers for Dec. 8 in Piscataway, so the Iowa and Wyoming duals got flipped to accommodate.
