Ah, Badger, home address of my not Boxster drivers license I used to get into bars. 218 Maher Street, Badger, Iowa. Thought it was lost and gone but found it recently in a stack of old baseball cards.
I had a fake DL when the drinking age was 18. After judo class the whole gang would head to this neighborhood bar; there were older adults and younger guys such as myself. Never got carded until one night after one of the young guys had a couple too many and was flashing his AAU card around, and got busted by the bartender. I wasn't there that night but was a few nights later. This was back before they put photos on the DL. I had that thing memorized, but she almost caught me, when she asked my middle name and I drew a blank for a few seconds. But then I got it right as well as "my" address and mother's maiden name (which I knew wasn't on there). Drinks all around!

Yeah, they are, although I am far more likely to know about Mack Garner, the jockey, and Himie Voxman, the clarinetist, than anything about wrestling lol.

Back in the middle ages when I was at ISU, I know if you were female, you wanted to avoid the wrestlers. I lived in Towers, so we lived with the football team. Some of those were a little scary too. One of them pulled the water fountain out of the wall on first floor Storms.

So I went to school with the likes of Crutch, John Quinn, Larry Crawford, John Arnaud, Vinny Cerrato, and Shamus McDonough. Too old for any of you younguns.
I remember having a Poli Sci class with Crutchfield, my freshman year. He was begging the professor for a D. I was at ISU from 81-86.

Just about. They punched cards to write programs then. I came to visit and punched all her cards wrong that she had me do, can't remember if a made hyphens underlines or vice versa. She was in the 1970's. My parents had students at ISU from 1968-me.
That was a real pain in the azz.

I had to make up a History test with a couple of linemen when my roommate dropped the griddle of a hot oil popcorn popper on my hand and it was bandaged pretty heavily at Student Health. Football players had an away game and it was the three of us in some tiny room. I think they were actually pretty smart though.

I had a couple linemen in my calc III class. Those guys were giants! On Monday they'd come to class with a bunch of scrapes and turf burns on their arms.

Well I covered 80-84. Seems like the late 80's might be where we are missing someone though KC covers it for us by being on staff.

I'm always sort of amazed by the different but similar positive experiences, how many people have had at their time at Iowa State. I've done quite a bit since then but wouldn't trade my time at ISU for anything, it was truly one of the most fun times of my life. Well I'll get of the sentimental soapbox now.

Class of 77 here

EDIT: Since we are sharing experiences, I did a story on the football team for the Daily in 75 and interviewed Wayne Stanley in his room. Afterward he and I and a couple other guys smoked some really good pot. (Yes, I did that sort of thing then!)

A-a-a-a-a-a-n-d.........the vixen volunteered me to sing on Christmas Eve at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Manson. We will have 4 of the 5 girls there, plus their families. My MIL wants me to sing "Mary Did You Know", and I'm looking for a website where I can both print the music and hopefully transpose it down a key or two. Any ideas?

Are you singing with accompaniment or a capella?

This site provides karaoke style soundtracks & background vocals in several different keys...

Ok folks who is it? I go into the football threads, the ISR threads, other off topic threads and get menards and chevy ads. I look in here and get Vickys and Ashley Madison. Somebody in RTT has to be hitting that vibe.

JV game gets moved back 15 minutes. Then find out it is only 2 quarters due to injuries depleting the other team. Throughout the day, (and some last night) daughter has been texting me about a headache from a hard hit in practice yesterday. Some symptoms of a concussion, so I get to watch other peoples kids for two quarters now. Btw, I'm the one who was trying to get her sat, the wife was telling me it was probably just drama and she is ok. So much for me being the cold hearted one.

The football team used to stay at a hotel in Boone Friday night before games to keep them away from the bad influence of the rest of the student body. (maybe they still do) They never thought about keeping them away from the bad influence that was the rest of the team.
