I don't know if you've noticed, but no one is falling for your ******** efforts to pretend like you know about the situation. This is line your fifth attempt in this thread now to post vague ****** troll attempts.

You missed the point. We should not be playing Zeb to get us ready for the future when we are literally still in the race for the whole thing! This can be a special season! Why would I care what someone believes?? Believe whatever you want. I just want wins.

I didn't miss the point. I agree with that part. You play the player that can help you win now. Doesn't change what I said or how you've trolled the thread multiple times now.

I’m fearing a Barnett deja vu. He replaced Janz the gunslinger. His first game was an upset win over #2 OSU. He lacked arm strength but was careful with the ball. He got worse every game he played and the opposition loaded the box because we couldn’t throw the deep ball. Hope I’m wrong, but Kansa has already picked up on our short game tendencies and we did regress.

I don't think OSU was his first start. Wasn't it Tech?

Could that regression have to do with the weather?honestly, it wasn’t even much of a regression.

could it be that everyone got way too excited about having a "4* qb" at Iowa state. we will all agree that parks 2 toughest games this year were Iowa and Texas, his completion % were 50% and 53% respectively. needed one more drive against Iowa to secure the win, couldn't do it. Last year, needed one more drive against Baylor....couldn't do it. needed one more drive against OK State...couldnt do it. all year been hanging receivers out to get hit high. yes, every game he make a few great throws that we all remember. but he was pressing too much trying to win the game on every throw. this offense has way too much talent on the edge to have a qb trying to make hero throws. this is why kempt had success, he was calm, made the right easy decisions and put the ball up where our talent could go up and make the play. that's all we need right now.

Don't want to blame Kempt, but in general the offensive was not very good against a pretty bad KU defense. Lots of loading the box to stop the run game and horizontal passing. KUs complete ineptitude on offense made the game a laugher, but teams are going to really press everything up and dare ISU to throw in windows across the middle. Maybe Kempt can make those throws, but it is pretty clear he doesn't have the velocity that Park does on his passes. I suspect that Manning will have to find some way to make it work with Kempt, Lanning and Zeb.

The weather was crap.
We still won.
I think it's a blessing honestly. We gave away very little O intel to future opponents.. We ran a very run heavy O with very little passing game.

We didn't see much...we didn't have to. No one got hurt and we beat a pretty bad KU team by a good chunk.

As for Park...he's not going to play again this year. I know nothing, but I know that when someone leaves for personal health issues as a 22? year old athlete and it's not cancer or some other tragic illness...it's drugs. And when you miss 2 weeks of practice and coaches aren't talking about your situation other than when asked...it's not something that gets cleared up in a month.

Or depression. Or any other mental health issue. Or the health of his baby. Or his girlfriend. There's a lot of things it could be other than drugs.

I've seen your posts. You're bound and determined to make him out to be Sam Richardson 2.0 for some reason.

Nah, I'm hoping people aren't making him out to be Seneca 2.0 (albeit JP has more of an arm than Seneca).

I think Park's great, hope he makes it back, and if he starts, only hope for the best.

Can't put my finger on it, and literally have no proof outside of his first game when OU had no scouting on him, but for whatever reason I feel more comfortable with Kempt in a late-game situation...maybe it's just his perceived demeanor...perhaps there's also just been that much more of a shift in the scheme and Park would be just fine (or better) too.

Either way, the Oline's the biggest deal, and that really needs to turn a corner as the 2nd half of the season gets under way.

Fun to at least be discussing two capable QBs and some generated excitement at this point in the season.

You’re missing the biggest factor in all of this though. Competent coaching staff.

This. Kempt is the guy for now, and he's a great story. Embrace it, and if/when Park comes back then we can have a debate over who should start.
Sure, but this thread wouldn't be very long if people just left it at that. Park vs Kempt is flamed by those using recency bias and stupidity to morph the past two team wins as Kempt being better, or even sillier, and indictment on Park.

And Kempt is the starter, but he's limited. I wonder how much we'll use Lanning against the better teams, and potentially even Zeb. This staff will handle the QBs better then the previous regime, so I think we could use all three if needed.

I love the sandlot, blood and piss in your eye football we are playing. I don't care if Park comes back TBH. He's a great talent, but Kempt is reliable and makes faster pre snap reads. He is distrubiting high percentage throws and we are winning. Even if Kempt doesn't work out Zeb looked pretty damn promising in his limited time.

Best of luck to Park, but from what I've been told its drug related and he may never be back if that is true.

When Kempt plays it feels like we have a team on the field with a never say die attitude. When JP was playing it felt like we were relying on him to beat the other team. I like what we are seeing so far with Kyle and Joel out there. Probably will not be too flashy but it is definitely effective. I'll trust the coaches to put forth our best chance to win.

Do we really know how limited Kempt really is? He took what was given to him in the Oklahoma game and won. He played in terrible conditions Saturday and continued to get better.

He’s completing 70% of his passes.
