Watched the Sooners post game press conference, their media is brutal. Somebody asked the coach, how is ISU tackling better then Oklahoma, that person needs to be fired.

Reddit comment from Oklahoma State fan.

Deep down I really sympathize, but I'm also laughing my ass off. Well played Iowa State. You ******* are ruthless.
OSU has had to wear that brutal scarlet letter shame of losing to ISU when they were ranked number two, on the ROAD and now their biggest rival lost to ISU at HOME, ranked number 3. They can now pass the shame on to the sooners. The sooners will have to own this, until some other team in the big 12 ranked in the top 5 gets beat by KU. It is going to be a long wait.

I saw him do that during the game - no clue what it meant. I thought it was a signal to the team. I feel kinda stupid now...

Finally just wanted to share my thoughts from the game..

1. Joel Lanning..nuff said
2. Kyle Kempt..so chill. Acts like he has been there before dozens of times!
3. The piling on penalty made me laugh.
4. I wasn't even born yet the last time we beat OU!
5. This was the first ISU football game I have ever thought ISU actually BENEFITTED more from the 50-50 calls.
6. This game was on mainstream FOX national TV. You have to think some big target recruits saw this or at least saw highlights throughout the day.
7. Another QB dilemma..but in a good way if that makes sense. If Park is back next week, does he start?
8. CMC's post game speech. This is why we need to do everything we can to keep him. Celebrate the big win but don't make it the pinacle of the season.

Bonus: OU will be fine. The way the CFP race is going, I think if OU wins out, wins the Big 12 championship they'll still be in. Pac 12 will beat each other up. FWIW, I think the CFP will be Bama, Clemson, OU, Penn State.

I hope two months from now the college football world looks back at this game and says that is where Iowa State turned the corner not still laughing at OU for losing to Iowa State.
Agree. Yesterday it was pointed out we're close to looking at 5-0 with KU next. We'd be ranked tomorrow.

OK, so I don't have super fancy equipment so I'm stuck just using my video camera to record from my TV. It still came out alright. I also don't have a sweet telestrator but I still pointed out where I believe penalties were committed but not called.

I feel like both of those are holds on the offensive line, though others may disagree. You have the OU linemen both on the shoulders of our D linemen, with their bodies perpendicular in both instances. They also both have their arms stretched across the chests of our guys and are grabbing the opposite shoulder pad/jersey areas. It's obvious that they are working to keep the right side of the field open for Mayfield whether it be for passing lanes or running lanes.

The block in the back.....well, that one is freaking obvious, no further explanation needed.

It's definitely holding. Holding to some degree happens every play by both teams, but the effectiveness and importance is exasperated by a scrambler like Mayfield.

Enjoyed reading the thread after watching the game. Went from negative nannies, to disbelief, to total glee! I think our losses were more about execution at key moments than about play calling. Against Iowa and Texas we made key errors in situations were we could have had game winning/tieing drives. We did not make that mistake against OU. Loved the swing pass to the backs against the blitz. Learning to execute that read itself would have probably been enough to beat Texas.

Now that we beat OU might as well just win out, avenge our loss to Texas in the Big 12 championship, and sneak into the playoffs with 2 losses!

Or until ISU beats #3 ranked TCU at home on the 28th....

I honestly think TCU has the best shot at CFP as of right now.
