Testifying
Both Prohm and Campbell seem happy in Ames especially with the family vibes.
The only thing I worry about is that both are a few states away from their hometowns.
People move home sometimes after a few years like Cuonzo Martin.

You have to give him an extension. No one worth a damn is going to workbook n 3 years.

If we pay ****, we will end up with s **** coach.

Yeah, with 3 years left on the deal, you HAVE to extend him - that becomes a recruiting issue. Raise now with the understanding that the big one will come after next year if performance continues at a high level once Hoiberg's recruits are gone.

But if other schools are going to throw the checkbook at him, that obviously changes things.

He deserves a raise based on the results he's gotten so far. However, we can't get carried away either. Next year is his first with his own squad.

Raise him to middle of the pack in the conference for pay and extend 1-2 years.

He's earned it.

Give him a raise and maybe moderate extension. Not sure how long he has right now. I still want to see how next year goes before going crazy.

I agree with this, except I'd say only a two or three year extension maximum. He definitely deserves a nice raise, but it remains to be seen whether he can recruit sufficiently enough to win with his players. He inherited a wonderful situation with an experienced team (last year's team started 3 seniors and 2 juniors or 3 juniors and 2 seniors depending on the rotation) that basically ran itself and self-regulated to some extent. This year he has had more control, but it's still a senior-dominated team with great senior leaders and guard talent. College hoops is a guard's game.

Let's not give him the 5 or 6 year extension yet. I think a nice raise and a moderate extension is the prudent thing to do right now. Revisit in two years and see how the team has performed since then.

Give him a reasonable raise and extend so he's on contract for another 3 years, minimum. And go ahead and try to put in a nice penalty owed if he leaves early in there.

On another note, back when we hired Prohm, I liked Underwood but had 2 reservations: that he wouldn't mesh well with the Niang team and that he might bolt after a couple of years (though thought it would be KSU). Really glad we're not in that situation.

2.2 per thru 2022 seems about right.

I'd be shocked if it weren't already done, just waiting for signatures after the season.

For those that were asking: http://www.amestrib.com/sports/men-s-basketball-isu-releases-prohm-s-contract

Prohm gets an annual $50k raise, and his two-way buyout is 50% of remaining contact. He got $50k for winning the B12 tournament, $50k for reaching NCAA tournament, and will get $25k for each win. Extra $250k for the Final 4 that we'll reach this year.

There are some good ideas on here, but Pollards hand are basically tied by 1) the coaching market (that is paying Underwood and freaking Cuonzo Martin $3m/year), and 2) whether or not Prohm/family like Ames.

We are consistently a top half team in the Big 12. Pay him enough for him to be top half, and extend him a couple years too if he wants it.
