Just came here to post this. Next best would have been Nirvana's In Utero, though I've never been as big on them as some people.1993, one of the best live albums of all time![]()
1985
"Southern Accents" Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
"Brothers in Arms" Dire Straits
"Freaky Styler" Red Hot Chili Peppers
"Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash" The Pogues
"Scarecrow" John Mellencamp
"Flip Your Wig" Husker Du
"Tim" The Replacements (my favorite of these)
Eddie Murphy's album (featuring "Party All the Time") came out in '85 as well.
Oh, and I fully admit that this thread dates me, and any of my fellow older CFers. I understand that I'm old now, and I own it.
That's a nice spread of genres for you.
There aren't a lot of songs from that year that I really "like," but there are some that I don't mind hearing at all (and one that hits close to home around these parts*).
"Suspicious Minds" - Elvis
"Sweet Caroline" - Neil Diamond*
"Hawaii Five-O" - The Ventures
"Galveston" - Glen Campbell
"I Heard It Through the Grapevine" - Marvin Gaye
Btw, this is 1969. I can't possibly be that old...![]()
