You also need wins against good teams. If you're the team that play good teams close but can't put together the win, your resume reflects that you don't deserve the tournament.

And if you get to 9-9 or in the top 6 in the Big 12 then you're just about guaranteed to be in and these two losses end up being meaningless.

Maybe. 9 losses in this year's Big 12 sounds like there are either bad losses in there or wins only over the bottom feeders.
I'm not banking on 9-9 being good enough with our noncon resume. We're setting up for a very weak resume.

THIS TEAM IS PATHETIC!!! 5 assists the whole game is about what we had in the last two games. Look at the top 5 teams, they are getting 20+ assists, because they play as a team. These guys are more concerned about their own individual game. And the coach just sits back and says he let's them play their game. Why do they need a coach? They rely on the 3 pt shot way too often. How many times do they cross the center line and put up a shot. You guys ever hear of passing the ball around? When is the last time we saw an ally oop? Can't do that, because that would involve two guys.

We have no idea how good Miami is. They were matched up with Rutgers in the Big 10 challenge so they weren't assumed to be good coming in to this year. The could be good but signs aren't pointing in that direction at the moment.

Agreed. Remember in 2013-2014 when Hoiberg lost 3 of 5 to start the Conference season, yeah, the sky was falling on the season then too, but they still made it to a sweet 16. Lets just calm down people.

This also happened. After an undefeated non-conference season, but one that was *this* close to even 3 or 4 losses.

History is awfully rosy. Tyron Lue punking Hilton in 1997 is still very much a reality.

im just amazed this team doesnt get a rebound when they need it or hit free throws. The exact combo of fundamental things you need to do to win big games. If we cant rebound against Cincy then Big Johnathan Motley will go for 40 and 20 against ISU unfortunately.

to be fair. A Baylor player pretty much goes for 40 and 20 against us every year. Doesn't matter who we have down low haha

For resume purposes, pecking order (typically) is:
Good wins > bad losses > good losses.

A snapshot of 351 teams in November (essentially) is going to be far different than one in February/March. It will change quite a bit.
