I would say the 76-78 helmet. But I also really like the "Cyclones" helmet as that was what they wore the first ISU game I went to, up in Madison.

The '81-'82 Helmet is my favorite.

Also, I wonder what the '83 logo (on Special Helmet) would look like on the helmets of recent years with the darker cardinal color? :biggrin:

Question on the red helmet in the early 80's. Didnt Criner or Walden have the whole team where the yellow helmets and than the the scout team mvp of the week in practice where the red on gameday?? Am I completely off base here?? I also like the early 80's helmets( yellow or red) the best.

IIRC, the red helmets were worn by the MVP's from the previous weeks game.

I can't remember which guys wore which. But, essentially, our best players wore a different color helmet than the rest of the players. I'm sure that made it difficult for opposing teams to track down our best players...
