Black Label & Oly. We had to import Coors from Colorado. Bud - I recall getting a 6-pack for $.69.

Icehouse, early 90s was $9.99 at cub foods for a case of bottles. Tried it a few years ago, wow that is bad beer.

Keystone Light the first two years of school, Busch Light (or Busch Latte, if you prefer) the last two. Clearly I developed a finer taste as an upperclassman :jimlad:

Wow, there's some young folks around here. How about "good" old Schaefer or Dubuque Star?

Not exactly sure.
It was like 5%, funny now that we thought that was high ABV beer. Picked up a growler of Boulevard Rye on Rye on Rye the other day, that is 14.5%

In the old days (HS college time), Iowa beer was 3.2%. Living on the minny border we would occasionally go to some MN parties with their 5 or 6% and drink like we normally did. It would mess you up.

Now, like you said, it's not uncommon to get a 8-9% (or in your case quite a bit more) beer.

We would get PBR kegs from the Keg shop for about 50 bucks in the early 2000's. You would also get a PBR t shirt, I am pretty sure I had a whole wardrobe of PBR shirts.

I've enjoyed the flavors of many crappy beers in my time. Ice House, Old Style, Stroh's, Beer 30 light, Old Milwaukee were common choices for me, but in the end Keystone light was probably my most popular just because of how cheap it was and I could consume more of it than some of the others.

We must have been in school at the same time. America's Only Fire Brewed Beer. Yeah, you could get 30 Keystone for $7.99, but you could get the same deal for Stroh's. Everybody drank Keystone, and would often help themselves. Stroh's, however? People would double take on that stuff. Wrinkle their nose and find someone else to mooch from...someone with Keystone. Those who would drink Stroh's, well, those were people I could hang out with.
