D UP: Do you have some authority for this? I'm not saying you are wrong, because I don't know, and I've tried to get the answer to standards for schools and conferences, to no avail. I do know that programs within a conference can set whatever higher standards they want, and that for example NW and Wisc have standards clearly higher than NCAA or B10 minimums. It's well documented that HC Anderson left Wisc for Oregon State, in part because he was not allowed to sign marginal recruits that went elsewhere, including KState. It's also fact that the B12 signs significantly more Jucos than other Power 5 conferences. Each program is different, regardless of conference minimums.

What usually happens with those schools is they have allotment of scholarships they can fill with kids at different levels. So maybe they have 5 scholarships a year they can use on kids that would make University requirements but they still make it under conference rules.

It takes 5 seconds to Google it and read an article from 2012 about the big ten and partial qualifiers.

Fact: the big ten has no partial qualifier rule. Anybody arguing the big ten has tougher standards is buying the big ten propaganda because they do not. They factually have lower standards for high school kids.

You can find the the other conferences partial qualifier rule. Where is the big tens again?

The fact they don't tell you they take them is surprising to people?

Please direct me the the big tens partial qualifier rule or any policy like you just stated.

No individual University is publishing their internal policies. I didn't say every school has such policies. I know Michigan and Northwestern do. Acting like partial qualifiers are a huge deal is ridiculous anyway.

Yeah..no big deal. Iowa can take 3 kids ISU can't. 3 kids SEC schools can't. Etc.

Translation. It's a huge deal in recruiting players. Acting like it isn't is just protecting the Big ten image that is a false image when it comes to athletes.

For universities there is no negative to posting a policy demonstrating high academic standards. Its surprising then that you don't see it posted somewhere. And we all know why that is. Once you post it, you have to follow it.

The big ten has been doing this for years. If this was not a big deal I wonder why Tom Osborne was so upset when the big 12 adopted it. I don't really wonder. I am being sarcastic.

No such thing as partial qualifiers anymore in NCAA. So no Big Ten does not accept them. Hasn't been for awhile despite what one person has been saying

Also funny that we have been beating them over half of the time lately. And we have not been very good at all, so yes it is the weak schedule.

You bet I'm serious. I've been to games in Iowa City and the tailgaters are separated in different areas and the stadium atmosphere is stale compared to the our updated stadium. You need to do some tailgating and go to a game in the updated JTS as it is a whole new big time feel. I'm completely serious when I say that the game day atmosphere in and around JTS is clearly better than Kinnick, and I think Vance will experience that for himself this fall. I'll give you that the hawks had a great regular season and with their schedule, they will have another good one this fall. But I think even most hawk fans know that it doesn't mean a lot unless they back it up against a good team in their bowl game, and that's probably a good part of the reason the stadium doesn't sell out. The Tennessee fiasco no doubt cost you attendance last year and the Rose Bowl pounding could easily do the same this year.

Our tailgating sucks because our vendors suck. The Iowa fans told us so it must be true.
