You know your athletics are sad when a fanbase resorts to touting student population size or 3rd largest stadium in the conference as some kind of achievement. I think Iowa fans are ok with having better sports teams, and being the school people outside of the state think of when they think of Iowa.

If you don't use D UP Clones as an example of our fanbase, I won't remind your mom that she needs to kick you out when I come over later, deal?

Sorry to derail the thread but I'm really loving this commit. I think this guy is ELITE. Hopefully he can qualify and will stick with us. His recruitment is about to blow up.

Take it easy Squawk. 'It's not where you're from, it's where you're at.' Little ghetto knowledge might do you some good there squawky.

Iowa doesn't have the better sports team(s.) Football isn't plural. You won this year in football, which has gone against recent history. And ISU won in basketball yet again in case you forgot. Also while ISU is competing in a higher level conference.

Hopefully ISU can continue to grow and change national perception of Iowa. People think our state sucks as much as Nebraska because of their association of trailer trash hawks when thinking of Iowa. We have such a bad reputation that shouldn't be applied to our great state thanks to the fake ID of college athletics.

D UP: Do you have some authority for this? I'm not saying you are wrong, because I don't know, and I've tried to get the answer to standards for schools and conferences, to no avail. I do know that programs within a conference can set whatever higher standards they want, and that for example NW and Wisc have standards clearly higher than NCAA or B10 minimums. It's well documented that HC Anderson left Wisc for Oregon State, in part because he was not allowed to sign marginal recruits that went elsewhere, including KState. It's also fact that the B12 signs significantly more Jucos than other Power 5 conferences. Each program is different, regardless of conference minimums.

You aren't looking hard enough if you can't find the general requirements for our three Iowa universities set by the Regents. Difference in acceptance rates (apply/accept) but admission standards are the same.

You know your athletics are bad when your "little brother", who wins 1/4 of the games you do, fills a higher percentage of their seats...even though your team is on a run to 12-0...that's just sad

We won't even bring up the part of you feeling the need to come onto "little brothers" forums to talk trash...

Now we're bringing up attendance? Pretty sure Iowa always dominates you there as well. Sad bc it doesn't take much to fill up your Mickey Mouse high school stadium. You guys are so hard up for winner I wouldn't be surprised if most of you would offer up your significant others to Campbell for a 7-5 season. So much jealousy....Eeesh.

There it is; the go-to conference excuse (even though every year B12 is shown to be overrated come postseason). Probably has nothing to do with being one of the all-time worst programs.

And you must have been so proud when Kurt took a knee at the start of the second quarter in a bowl game.

Honestly this year was a bit screwy. OU was only the third best team but all the teams they played at the top were missing their QB. Baylor should've been in the playoffs and TCU should of been 2. Bowl match ups were terrible too. Everyone knew Tech was going to lose. They can't stop the run and they got matched up with a team that can only run and they run good.

Oklahoma State was vastly overrated and shouldn't have been in the sugar bowl. KSU is showing that BIll Synder is at the end of the rope. We weren't even favored in any of the bowls except for OU and they lost their Running back at the end of the half which hurt them badly. It didn't really matter because OU shouldn't been there though. Kinda like how Ohio State should've been in the rose bowl.
