I bet you like participation trophies. And also I don't have a 7 year old, I just added it for dramatic effect and because there is no trash talk in church leagues smart guy. Congrats. You've been randy marshed.

No, I hate participation trophies. I don't see how that has anything to do with trash talking a player on your favorite team, ESPECIALLY when all of the details aren't even known.

I'm fine with his attitude sucks, his play has been worse this year, he should stay off of social media. I don't see the point in saying he sucks or he's a little *****. I don't see what's so hard to grasp about that.

I absolutely love this thread. It's not cool that Jameel is suspended but this thread makes it almost worth it.

I think we will still be a 3 or 4 seed without him, it will just be the NIT
Nah, but this season for us is eerily similar to the OSU one with Marcus Smarts last season. We will be in the tourney. Just won't be surprised if it's a 9 seed or so.

Re: Not traveling to OSU??

Coaching has a lot to do with relationships too. Care about the person first and foremost, then work on the athlete.
An example of this is how Roy Williams makes it a point to schedule a game in the home state of his blue chip recruits. Or, how Coach Campbell held family meals with position groups at Toledo. Hopefully, that continues. Then, look at Fred, helped support Royce, held community meeting with BDJ's neighbors.

Person first, athlete second.
Please stop. screw coach Roy...fricking cheating azz fraud.

He schedules games in Iowa to keep his Iowa HS pipeline relevant and keep his name in the headlines here for when another Harrison Barnes might show up in the Iowa high school ranks---so Roy can recruit him. He doesn't come back here to 'reward' Paige or Barnes.

naive thinking...sorry. Roy boy..aka Huckleberry Hound, is a shiester.

Sorry I'm being lazy but I do not want to go through this whole thread and haven't found anything elsewhere so far. Do we have any specifics? I know it's not legal related but anything else?

Jameel McKay has been a huge part of this team's on the court struggles this year and now he's a cancer in the locker room. He's ******* himself, the entire team, especially Niang, CSP and the entire Cyclone Nation. **** off and go home, Jameel. I don't care if I ever see you again.

I fully expect a motivated team to come out and play small ball tomorrow and come away with a victory. They've played better when he's been out of the lineup lately anyway. Time to just make it official.

Ive mentioned a few times that certain players were fed up with a couple that don't give it their all, haven't practiced hard, and just goof around. Well, they made it clear that was not going to be tolerated anymore and McKay didn't like the change.

Team is coming together stronger. McKay has been a thorn in the locker room all year and finally lashed out by saying he's done with it. He subsequently cooled down but the damage is done. Prohm gave the suspension for missed practice and team will decide if and when he is allowed to return.

I fully expect to see a more focused team effort tomorrow.

Best news all week. Probably should have happened sooner, but it likely would not have mattered. Hopefully everyone on the team takes notice.

+1000

here is my recommendations to use his free weekend wisely:

Rest knee
Seanna knocks some sense into him
Grow up
Quit whining
Practice free throws all weekend
Get an Attitude adjustment
It not all about you

He took a **** on 2 big wins for the team by being a selfish. (KU and Cincy)

Hopefully he can change and buy in, but if not...cya.

The last 10 seconds of the WV game tell the whole story. McKay quits playing, doesn't foul, and slowly walks off the court as the time runs down. Meanwhile Matt Thomas is still hustling on defense and is so annoyed with McKay walking off that he throws his hands up in the air in disgust. Go back and watch.

So 2 years in a row now, a player being selfish has cost us. Unreal.

I blame Fred quite a bit for this. There was no discipline whatsoever in this program. No wonder he was considered a "player's coach"..... he let them do whatever they wanted.

I'm really starting to feel for Prohm. He's already lost one of the best leaders on the team in Naz. It will be very interesting to see how we look tomorrow. Maybe the guys will come together and play better? Hopefully Cooke won't screw it up.
