I've know a doctor that was history undergrad. It is only a medical degree not something difficult like being a rocket scientist.

Cotton-Moya may be to far off the ledge, why wouldn't he travel or work his way back/even attend practices leading up to the WVU game unless his mind was not made up.

Makes sense that he could leave and go back west coast to a power program to play a year/two. Could see some of our more talented freshman that have their RS year still to burn leaving to go closer to home too. It's a business and to the players this is a job about maximizing their futures.

Warren and Lazard are the biggest ones. Those are the two i would hate to lose and i dont think there is a chance of that. Everyone else is replaceable. I would also really hate to lose our nose guard and Cotten moya. For some reason the big nose guards name escapes me.

Tucker isn't going anywhere and I'm excited to see what he can do out of the 4-3 if we go that route.

I mean, I guess it makes sense if he wants to lose a year of eligibility and then have one year left to make an impression on scouts. Or he could stay here and have two years. I guess it wouldn't be much of an option if I was in his position based on that alone.

Re: Potential transfers

Wouldn't that be something if he went there and lit it up for Tom Hermann. Would be a big kick to the groin for me, as I've always wanted to give that kid his shot. I always thought he had more talent than QBSR.

I thought he was better and yes I know he played like crap when we lost to KU.

Moyà would be a fool to leave. He's a starter amd will remain that way. Unless he completely hates the new staff it makes zero sense.

Remember when he "vowed" to be back this season at the end of October. I wouldn't consider skipping practice the entire week and not traveling as a good sign moving forward. It doesn't have to make sense to you why he would go, it only has to make sense to himself and his family. Moving closer to home and playing at a premier program (yes he is that good enough to go to a USC) may be the best move for his future even if it is one year.

Miya is nowhere near NFL material yet. He loses a year and it will negatively affect his chances. He's a good college safety but he's got a ways to go and learn before he thinks NFL. I truly hope he stays..for his sake.

It can make sense in his head but still be a bad decision. I love watching him play but if he doesn't want to be here, goodbye and good luck.

Re: Potential transfers

Good luck to Grant. Never understood why he did not get a better shot at the job, but Mangino obviously had some talent scouting issues.

Exactly. I think that Mangino decision is why we have a coaching change today. Never understood it given how Grant played at the end of 2013. Best of luck to him.

The thing I notice with this program and in a general college student population --- they want the coach or professor to "take care of them" while in college, or at least love to hear it verbalized, the their superiors "care about them"

Good lord.

He did battle Richardson for the starting job last year and lost, then lost to Lanning in the backup battle this year.

Crazy thing is I think he would have been a better fit for Mangino this year, since he was a better passer than Sam and Mangino didn't want to let Sam run which is what made him good.
yes. The irony of this.

Re: Potential transfers

He didn't even start on his high school football team

Amazed by your input. DeLira lettered 2 years at LT. In his Junior year, LT made it to State-semis with Nixon as his battery mate. He returned his senior year and had a great season. This kids stats doesn't show his true potential. Both years LT scored 45 - 55 points in the first half against opponents and DeLira was finished after a few series in the 3rd quarter. He was also an Elite 11 finalist in Dallas, Tx where he showcased his true potential. In the Deion Sanders camp DeLira was absolutely lights out. The kid may be raw but he can Ball!

Football is not the only input that goes into a decision like that. What if he wasn't completely comfortable at Iowa State for school, but was sticking around because he loved his coaches. There is so much more to decisions like this that "what makes the most sense for my football future".

If he feels like he needs to leave then good luck just like I said. If he's only wanting to go because the other staff got canned and he's unwilling to give the new staff a chance, I think that's a bad move. It's his life though and I won't hold it against him if he does leave.
