Glad to see the thread. Always like hearing about the next generations of past Cyclone athletes. The Davis' were fun to watch.

Troy and Darren have a younger brother who committed to ISU, but I think he didn't qualify or something like that. They have an older brother that played at a smaller school in Iowa and he was an All-American RB.

Another Davis would be awesome. Darren had a nasty spin move.

He had tons of moves, him torching the Hawks at Kinnick for our first win nearly 2 decades was one of my favorite Cyclone football memories.

Apparently Darren Sr. is a bit upset that CPR has not invited him up for a game. Not sure if true, but a good friend of mine is friends with Darren.

I was easily the fastest player and led our metro league in TD's and rushing yards in Jr. High... By the time I was a senior in HS I was as average as it gets. Too early.

You didn't have the pedigree this kid has. We should be talking to him.

CPR wants system running backs. Guys that are willing to fall down in the backfield after running into the back of a guard that was pushed 2 yards into the backfield.

A couple months ago, Darren Jr. scored the game winning TD against the team Troy and Darren Sr. played for. Darren Jr. is just a freshman this year. I hope the new coaching staff keep his scholarship offer.

Here is a really nice article (although poorly written) about Darren's younger son, Derron. Has some great info on the Davis family from Troy and Darren to brothers Eddie and Jason. Eddie played at a small school in Iowa where he was an All-American RB.


Fun fact: Former ISU RB Larry Crawford played for the same youth team (Palmetto Raiders) that all the Davis' played for.

So Darren Davis Jr. is playing varsity football as a freshman at the largest private high school in Florida. I think Iowa State could put him to good use...

It's a youth football blog...most likely written by youths. The author is probably 12.

Agreed. He is the only freshman on their varsity squad and he is splitting carries with a junior who has some good offers. I hope our new coach goes down there as there are several good players to check out. I think Darren Jr is returning kicks for Columbus this year as well.

That would be so cool to have Darren Davis running the ball for us again. It's crazy we're looking at a whole new batch of Davis's already. They were my favorite players when I was little.
