Loved it while Larry was here. He was a fun coach, his post game interviews with Pete and Eric were epic. Great times for sure.

The story was good until I read this :but I’ve talk to (former Iowa coach) Steve Alford about it. He doesn’t feel warmly received in Iowa. Why? I don’t know.”
How can anyone not understand the hatred for Alfraud?

Thats called tossing in a dig at Iowa. Eustachy is classic for. Doing things like that.

I think most feel like wayne's first couple years would have been better had LE been there as HC.

Perhaps, but I think it's just as likely that Stinson or Blalock or maybe even both, plus maybe Rahshon Clark, would have transferred out at some point in those two years based on rate of in-season and out of season roster turnover those last two years.

It's all 20/20 hindsight at this point in time anyway. WM did coach those teams to the NIT Final Four and won an NCAA tournament game, so it's not like we turned into Nebraska.

He is the Natty Light part of ISU's Wide Right and Natty Light. He is part of ISU, good and bad. Clone to the Bone, heartbreak or elation Iowa State is hard to give up.

I like to remember the good times with Eustachy, Floyd, Orr, Hoiberg...all of them are integral to what ISU is now.

Pretty sure former admin stated Lar would never be allowed to return to ISU as a coach...

That's about the extent of it. Poke outs after getting blown by and blocks from behind after getting blown by.

I'm pretty sure he led the conference in steals or was 2nd both years. And I think he was pretty high up the ranks of blocked shots for a PG. I wonder what his def win shares rank would have been.

That's the most amusing take on Tinsley's defense that you'll ever see.

Nobody playing outfront on defense keeps absolutely everything in front of them, it's next to impossible.

The reason it worked is because for the most part JT and Horton locked down the opposing guards.

I modeled my game after Tinsley, that's how you make defense fun :)

While I think LE was the better coach, it's hard to say if he'd have done better than the NIT Final 4 and NCAA 2nd round accomplishments of those two teams. They had good talent, but no Tinsley and Fizer. I also think Morgan probably gave those teams more freedom to run and go one on one than LE may have. But I'd agree that LE coaching and Morgan recruiting could have been a dynamite combo.

13-3 is showing the Colorado State/UNI game. CSU leads UNI 80-74 with 20 seconds left.

Eustachy not getting a chance to coach the Stinson, Blalock, Clark and Carr group was extremely disappointing. I think that team would have been special under Larry. Morgan was just not disciplined enough to get the best out of those guys.

Why did my dogs start barking all of the sudden??

Gunner is right. He had a lot of blocks and steals, but he was not a great on ball defender.

On on a different note, I think that Stinson would have absolutely thrived under Eustachy. Probably would have hated his guts and played to spite him.
