The Dwayne Stephens suggestion (with Otz in the same role) is a really good one.

I am to the point if Fred leaves and we don't hire Hornacek. Just let T.J. take the reigns and see how he does. The other candidates mentioned aside from Franscilla don't excite me.

I don't understand why you're still anti-Archie. He's a MUCH safer hire than Otz. Dayton plays in the 6th best conference, the next best thing to playing in a power conference. If Archie is a guy who doesn't seem likely to be able to make the jump (as you said a couple of days ago), then by your logic, Shaka won't be able to make the jump from VCU to Texas (exact same conferences). Shaka was a slam dunk hire and anyone will agree that it was. People want Otz to be promoted to help keep all of the recruits that Hoiberg was going after, but he can easily be retained as an assistant coach and still be able to do the same.

I wish somebody could tell me what it is...about me not endorsing TJ. I mean, I have nothing against him, not even the departure 2 yrs. ago with a lateral move. The fact he hasnt been a head coach isn't the issue either, as everyone has to start somewhere. How about a 'behind the scenes' plan all along by Pollard/Otz? No...I don't even think that's it. Hmmm... a big name or a splash hire doesn't necessarily mean success, so why shouldn't I want a guy that knows ISU? Seriously, this is not sarcasm. But I can't even pinpoint what my reservations are, but for some reason, I have them. Thoughts?

Somebody run up to Sukup and make sure we have copies of those SLOB and BLOB binders before Fred splits town.

Florida couldn't even get Chris Mack.

Oh you must have missed out on this I'll catch you up. Florida had one down year so those titles and recent Final Four appearances are now meaningless. That is the current narrative. ISU is a MUCH better job than Florida.

If we can't get a big time hire (Hornacek, Coach K, Izzo) then I am joining the small village of #TeamOtz.

I never quite know if it is leveraging his AD or not, but I do know that Izzo has spoken about taking on a different challenge on occasion. Most assume that would be in the NBA, but that's mostly because he's been a figurehead at MSU for so long.

Archie Miller turned down a lot of money at a 'football school', and a terrible basketball conference. He might listen to ISU with the team we have coming back, the backing of the AD and a great basketball conference.

I would so fangirl if we got Izzo.
