Early 1990s...before road rage became fashionable...
Driving easbound on I-90 in southern MN heading back to Ames. I'm pretty much the only one on the road. I check my rear view mirror and see a car way back in the distance, and a semi behind that car.
Some moments later, I check the mirror again, and said car and semi are right on my bumper. I expect impact, and I floor the accelerator hoping to make a little gap. The car somehow gets into the passing lane, and the semi follows. The semi is basically pushing the car. I slow way down to let them get by. As soon as the car clears me, it moves back into the right lane. The semi, beside the car, also tries to move over and forces the car onto the shoulder. The car lays on the brakes and the semi flies by. The car then takes off.
We are coming up on an exit with a truck stop. In the mean time, two other semis fly by me and are now right on the tail of the first semi. They all three take the upcoming exit.
It was all kind of surreal, and brings to mind the classic early 1970's movie "Duel"...
