@oprsportsguy Question still out there. I am pulling for panthers, but would like to know how you think the Panthers do against KU and OU?

Gary Rima@oprsportsguy
@ChipFlory This year UNI would win...both...but hey I'm a homer and believer we can beat anyone anywhere anytime! #wewillplayanyone

OK, I wanted to give Rima benefit of the doubt but that is nonsense for a team with no impressive road wins. I was at UNI/Iowa, credit to UNI for doing it somehow, but if I had to pick a home team there it would clearly have been UNI. They had their own announcer going nuts for every UNI basket, student section behind a hoop, and the fans they had were going nuts.

He opened up his show yesterday proclaiming it was a "Panther State" because they were the highest ranked team in the polls. I threw up in my mouth, then proceeded to shut the radio off so I don't know what was said after that.

UNI is good but this crap is getting old. Can't wait to see them get trounced early in the tourney. I also can't wait for the drubbing we put on them next year at the Well.

UNI always thinks they are way better than they actually are. I'm sure they think they have a better program than us despite not being able to fill a small arena and the fact they haven't been to the tourney since 2010.

The odds of any MVC team sweeping OU and KU on the road this year are astronomical. It'd be a challenge for Kentucky to go 9-0 on the road in the Big 12.

I don't know where you are seeing him saying they'd sweep them, nor do it on the road. He just said they could beat them. Not to mention do you really think the play-by-play announcer would say they'd lose?

Those are some pretty bold statements.

Now, if he UNI would beat Iowa State right now, I'd listen. Just because of the opposite directions the two teams are currently headed.

Damn, learn how to use twitter buddy.

Someone tweeted at him: How would UNI do against KU and OU on the road?
He responded: I already answered that. #Win

Sorry I expected those upset about it to provide the actual information. Now that I see it I actually know what he said.

He clarified UNI would beat both on the road.

I don't think John Walters would say ISU would sweep the top two teams in the top conference on the road. Especially not if we were in the MAC or MVC.

He's saying on the road. They might get Oklahoma on an off night on the road. They aren't beating ISU or KU on the road.

Rima better eat some crow if they don't at least make the Sweet 16. They should be automatic if they can take out KU and OU on the road.

Overreaction by CF, again. He's the voice of the fricken Panthers.

Same with Jon Miller saying Iowa could go 9-3 in the Big 12 in football.

Sometimes "the voice" makes bold predictions on things that are actually never going to happen.

If he wanted to do his team a better service he would say something that is at least within the realm of imagination like "UNI could beat anyone in the country on a given day. Never say never." That is something that props up his Panthers without being just dismissed out of hand by practically everyone who reads it.

But frankly, what Rima says has no effect on my Cyclonecentric world.
