you actually know...

John Eader - not that crazy but when he joined the Navy he became Seaman Eader. Unfortunate.

I bought some land from Harry Ball. Unfortunate.

For you russian speakers - when I was in Air Force language school our instructors would giggle whenever my classmate - Dave Minet (pronounced minyet) - was mentioned. The last several days of our school were devoted to russian profanity (russians take cursing to another level). Anywhoo - Minyet in russian is sexual act involving mouth attention to boy parts... Unfortunate...

Basketball coach in grade school. **** Point, unfortunate... rumors often went around that his middle name was Les, never found out if that one was true.

When I was in my teens I worked at DSM Golf & CC. There was only 1 black married couple that were members.

Any guesses what their names were? Believe it or not they were "The Whites".

Always gave me a chuckle when I thought about it.

My brother has a list of really awful names he got while working summers at Principal Financial. Some guy there had collected them. I can only remember 3 off the top of my head:

Ima Pigg -- and her sister

Lotta Pigg -- and

Harry ****.

Now what parents would give their kids names like that.

I met a big guy a couple years ago whose first name is Helen, can't remember his last name, but that had to be brutal growing up.

I take my daughter to a dermatologist named Dr. Love -- not a studly guy.

My dad tells the story about a girl in his class named Fonda Dix.

Oh, man! I forgot about her! She played BB for Ankeny back in the 70's I think. Was a very good player. For a while, I thought my friends back then were making it up when they'd tell me, "Ankeny's got a girl's BB player named Fonda Dix." One of the worst names, ever.

Similar thing happend on my street. There is a mixed race couple, with the last name Brown. I did not know what their last name was and my neighbor said, ohh here come the Brown boys. She could tell I was shocked, and then said "no no, their last name is brown."
