BYU i would avoid so you don't have 3 time zones covered. I think you have to stay in the CST and EST.
If they go North/South - could make football a bit easier???
Schools worth adding: BYU, ND, Cinci, Uconn, Neb, Arkansas, Missouri (some pipe dreams and wishful thinking here i know)
There's a few that can be debated if they would be good adds, mostly old Southwest Conference teams not currently in the big XII. Either way I think adds must make geographic sense and bring some value. don't expand just for the sake of expanding.

I would stay away from BYU. All sorts of ramificiations concerning Sunday games. The Big 12 does not need BYU.
Oxymoron? Is there anyone who would conceivably leave their existing conference and bring any sort of value? Nebraska, Arkansas, and Missouri don't count in my opinion. They have no reason to want to leave $$$ wise.

by geographic sense i mean not a Florida team or something random like that. And I understand teams like Neb and Ark aren't going to jump, hence the fact I added:
maybe you skimmed over that part?
Neb should have never left. I think they have to realize that now. I was a big fan of the Big 8 and the original Big XII. I guess I long for those back
I didn't skim over anything. Barring all pipe dreams, who is a valuable add that makes geographic sense?
Uconn and Cinci both relatively close to WVU, only reason it would make any "geographic sense". They add legitimate markets (value) and are respectable in both sports. would make Big XII an even better MBB conference. BYU doesn't make any sense geographically, but I think would be a good add and they're gettable.
hell of a lot better than memphis, rice, SMU, or something like that.

So why wasn't BYU added to the Pac 12 if they were such a great get? BYU is located almost 1,900 miles from Morgantown WV. They do not play on Sundays.....and for television deals and basketball......that hurts. I see no reason to add BYU when there are better options out there that would be available. No real reason to expand, expecially when the Big 12 gets 2 teams into the Final Four of Football.

I will say, even if it's mediocre add for the conference, a new north division where we play Cincy, KU, Memphis, K-State, and WVU every year, but miss 2-3 of the south teams would be a godsend for getting ISU FB back on track.
