Would you have called the unsportsmanlike penalty in the Oregon/Arizona Game?

The referees were correct to throw a flag

That said, the player deserves most of the responsibility. Be smart and don't put yourself in a position where a ref is forced to make a judgment call, because the judgment might not go your way.
oh come on, say you got a huge stop on 4th and goal so your telling me you wouldn't celebrate? Oregon got robbed, Zona should have kicked the field goal tho

Celebrate with your teammates - high fives, *** slaps, whatever - but don't sprint fifteen yards past the play so you're isolated and make a gesture that so much as suggests that it was planned or scripted. Know the rules and play within them. Pretty simple.

It was 3rd and goal. Not 4th. Arizona would have kicked a field goal and won by 3 instead of 7. Penalty did not matter in the end.

I have no problem with the flag. Football is supposed to be a team sport and not individual. I was always taught in High School, hit a guy reach down and help him up after the play. Its celebrations and stupid things like this that have caused me to lose all interest in the NFL.

fn stupid...period. he may have attracted extra attention to himself, but so what. a quarterback running to the endzone after a TD and doing the cross symbol, pointing up and pumping his fist is never called...its the same thing. its a BS and refs have done way too much to dictate outcomes of games. should have he done it...no, but then there should be no celebrating on the offensive side of hte ball and no jumping and bumping in mid air, no offensive lineman lifting up a running back after a TD or anything....so lame.

the difference is they usually pull that move shortly after they make the TD. They don't sprint to midfield and do it tauntingly.

I can't believe it took 26 posts to establish it was third down, not 4th. Arizona kicks the field goal, sacks Mariota a couple more times, ballgame. It didn't cost Oregon the game.
