Holy moley. I kept saying "is such a thing possible?" throughout the video.

Would love this kid, but the fact that we weren't early on him as others (who knows the convos Fred has had though) doesn't give me a lot of hope. Still, have to keep aiming for the best.

It really makes me wonder who reached out to who. The timing is very odd and definitely not traditional ISU recruiting territory.

If his brother is any good he can transfer in and we get both. Only half joking.

Pretty obvious that Fred only wants the very best high schoolers. If we miss on them, Fred knows that he can get an awesome transfer or JC player.

Wow, our basketball program has come so far in such a short time.

Normally, I'd have some pessimism about landing a guy like this, but the fact we got a visit this late is a good sign. Either Fred and Co. have a habit of reaching out to Top 5 kids hoping for a visit, or there was some interest communicated to our staff by this kid.

I agree with other posters that the timing of this is really weird and you would have to think ISU is on the outside looking in. Could it be that we are trying to pressure a commitment out of Coffey? Maybe, maybe not..

I agree the timing is odd, but I think your mindset is the exact opposite of where it needs to be. I think an opportunity presented itself and we're getting in on it. My feeling is that he was a lost cause strong to AR but that is no longer the case. Game on.

Getting an in-home visit isn't the hard part. It doesn't do any harm to the recruit's chances other than spending some time getting to know the staff and listen to their sales pitch. The difficult part is getting an on-campus when there is a limit on the number.

I think we will have a very good chance of landing top-tier talent from thee 2016 class as they'll be exposed to the amazing year I anticipate this year's team is going to have. We just need to keep up our winning ways and the doors will continue to open.

I used to go to his rival high school (Fayetteville High School) and I remember when this kid was a freshman he just seemed special, used to kick our butts. When I lived there his brother Marcus Monk was the best Wide Receiver on the Arkansas football team. Razorback fans are familiar with his name but I would love for Fred to snatch him up. The kid is special.

The only thing I learned from this is that I am horrible at state abbreviations.
