I want to preface my question by saying Georges is my favorite cyclone maybe of all time and I give him a lot of credit for our run last year. There is no question he is special and the leader of our team and that he deserves all of the love that he is getting. But is anyone else concerned that these accolades will take away from the chip on his shoulder that he always talks about? I like the Georges that has spoiled us and always has been on a mission to quiet all haters. But what if there are no haters and no more old guy at the gym references for extra motivation?

Re: Naing

Really, man? You think a guy who was able to do this to his body could have "motivation problems"?

I'm not concerned he is not motivated I'm concerned he doesn't have any haters for an extra edge. I'm just not used to having guys at ISU with this much deserved hype!

Yes, the guy who has lost considerable weight and has on his mind how last year's team was a legit Final Four caliber team if he's healthy should have a hard time finding motivation.

Add that he's potential for POY, A A, etc. lists and maybe he'll just stop caring altogether.

No, not sure if you know this or not but he played against Nerlens Noel and has an old mans game so I dont think we have to worry about a chip

This is what happens between basketball and football season. We start making up things that will ruin our basketball season because we're looking thru the pessimism of football.

You forgot his amazing [lack of] vertical lift...

I really want to see him slam home a few alley oops this year. :)

Niang has mentioned multiple times that his appreciation for playing basketball increased after his foot injury. No worries here.
