If Calvin Godfrey could have stayed away from pot, he'd be a senior and unstoppable...we'd of won tonight.

How bout this? I would have liked our chances better had GN played? Or GN might have contributed to the outcome of the contest? I hope I didn't make an excuse or offend anyone.

No doubt about it. We win by 20 if Georges plays. Easily

No, just no. How many teams did ISU beat this year of UConn's caliber by 20 pts......oh is that 0? Does ISU win the game with Niang, I think its a good possibility, but by no means would it be a blowout. It's frustrating to think what might have been with Niang on the court but ultimately UConn was the better team tonight.

Easily. 10-20 point win with Niang.

Add Niang and you have 2 similar teams yet ISU isn't undersized and can get buckets inside. No Niang and all of a sudden a team who isn't big lilke Uconn gets a real size advantage.

Sadly the game was lost because Kane was not clutch and Napier was.

**** man I hate uconn more than any other team they are so ******* lucky they got to see a Niang less Clone team. That ******* team gets so many breaks and tehy are good. But Uconn got the hot start they needed and Kane killed ISU's chances bricking free throw after free throw.

It took Uconns best game of the season to win even without Niang and took a choke job by Kane which shows that this squad next year will be the same level as this years team and should be ranked anywhere from 10-20 all season.

And they almost overcame no Georges, Napier being red hot, and UConn getting an early lead.

Ummm..Kane scored 16, had 8 rebounds and 9 assists. I think you need to re-evaluate your definition of a choke job. Was it his best game? Probably not, but he wasn't a choke artist as you seem to believe.

I know, I know...FTs...blah, blah, blah

We played to seed without a key player and lost a road type game. Grat season and it's obvious we're reloading as a program.

Although I am disappointed that our team didn't play well tonight, it is actually encouraging to me to think "what if" Niang wasn't injured. Except for Dustin, everyone was off tonight, yet we still had a chance at the Elite 8 with four minutes left in the game. To me, that is very encouraging - to realize how good we were this year and how it took a really bad night + the loss of Niang to keep us out.

It's not every year we can realistically imagine being in the Final Four, but this was one of those years! Hoping we'll be back again next year.

The fact we could have won without Georges does not degrade the thought we would have won with Georges. If anything it supports it.

UConn was absolutely clutch tonight. ISU was the worse team tonight. Its a completely different game in many aspects if Niang is playing. Does it increase ISU's probability of winning, of course. Does it guarantee an ISU win, absolutely not.

What the hell is wrong with people? It's someone's opinion on a fan forum. We aren't on the team and have no reason not to point out possible reasons the team lost. It's really not that big of a deal. Stop with the excuses comments. Every reason the team lost is due to an excuses. Free throws, defense, bunnies are all excuses. Gerorges being in would have made a tremendous difference in almost every aspect of the game. That my friends is a fact. Whether it translates to a win we will never know.

Hogue gave you everything you typically get from Niang and then some tonight.

UConn played great and ISU wasn't particularly sharp for much of the game. I just wanted Georges to be able to be on the court experiencing it with his team more than anything.

Thank you! Getting good use out of the ignore feature tonight. I don't get how anyone doesn't think we win with him out there. I don't think Fred and Walters would be bringing it up if they weren't thinking the same thing.

Somehow it's ok to point to free throws but certain people go NUTS if you bring up a key injured player or a road environment. It's all the same. It's always rational to mention it, probably always irrational to talk certainties about it, always irrational to deny certain things had an effect.

I won't get into officiating because I feel it didn't really hurt us, but plenty of times you have to throw that in too or you're just deluding yourself to feel better. Talking is what the board is for.

People aren't saying they think ISU loses even with Georges out there. They are saying it doesn't matter. Because he wasn't.

Production wise you're right, but they really clogged up the lane the first half, Niang eats them alive if they employ that strategy scoring and passing out of it.

Credit to Ollie though because I'm sure that was his game plan and it took us a good 30 minutes to adjust.

This thread is a joke. Where was the thread where we lose to Kansas without Embiid? Yeah, I thought so.
