TWolves will definitely come hard at Hoiberg this spring. It might be their last chance to keep Kevin Love happy since they have such a good relationship. I think he'll get a better opportunity than Minnesota but he's probably got a soft spot in his heart for that franchise.

That being said, it's not worth worrying about. Even if/when Fred leaves he'll be leaving the program in good enough shape to get a REALLY good coach to replace him. If OU can get someone like Lon Kruger, we can get a big name coach too. Life would go on.

How many pages until we get an open letters thread to CFH?

Then change avatars to Hoiberg

Then after 6 months we are back to cat gifs

I'll take it a step further.

Let's talk about our favorite memory from the Fred Hoiberg era.

I can't remember the year, but I'll start with the time Johnny Orr came out with him when they played Michigan.

Then he decided he'd be the head coach of the Timberwolves just before an important road game with conference-standings/NCAA tourney seeding implications at Kansas State.

Bummer for all the freshman/sophomores that he'd brought in to start really building a program too.

I refuse to freak out every time some idiot talking head brings this up. It's just stupid, these guys have no clue and the only purpose for saying it is on-air filler.

Fred will leave someday. Might be this spring, might be in 10 years, might be in 30 when he retires. Why worry about it?

Somewhere in the U.S.
I think CFH may leave for the NBA some day, but not any time soon. He has not accomplished what he wants to accomplish at ISU yet, and I do believe enough in his character to think that is important to him. I also don't think he sees himself yet as some marvelous coach who has done amazing things. I think he is confident, but not cocky. Why would he want to leave for the NBA now? It's not like there is a history somewhere of college coaches going to the NBA and succeeding. In fact, the reverse is true. They are successful in college, go to the NBA, suck, and return to have success in college again. I believe Fred may chance that some day, but not now. IMHO, it is just way too early.....plus he loves it here right now for himself, his alma mater, and his family. Who else does he have to make happy?

Besides all of the above, there is not a damned thing any of us can do about it.....so why worry?

Oh good grief...

I'll worry about it when it happens.

Kinda like someone saying Texas is gonna leave the Big12...I'll worry about that when it happens too...
