I wish people in this thread would stop trashing the kid. he had to go somewhere. sadly it isn't going to be here. no need to be butthurt and childish.

wish him the best and move on.

i, for one, am done posting in this thread as it is now irrelevant to cyclone sports.

Why? What would be the point? I'm sure most people tweeting him are going to come off looking like ignorant ***holes

Who the hell cares? I'm not doing it, but I don't see the harm if other people do it. He loved it when everyone was tweeting him when he was deciding. He can see both sides of it, as far as I am concerned.

Iowa State fans showed him a ton of love for the last 2 years.

This is an all too familiar situation for myself as shyte like this always happen to the Illini but honestly this decision will just **** Fred off and he'll go out and land another 5th year transfer stud. Maybe this will lead to Fred wanting to play the game? Who knows. What I do know there is no other person I'd want this programs hands in.

I don't understand how he claims his whole recruitment that relationship with the coach, style of play, and winning a championship are the most important things he is looking for, and then pick UNLV...

Yeah. He's full of ****, but that's his right. I'm fairly certain that he went to the highest bidder and we typically won't compete well when those are the parameters.

I know I'm in the minority, but I'm one of the few who didn't think his game is that different than a lot of the players we have been getting. If he is dead set on leaving after just one year, he's gonna have to hope that a team is willing to draft on potential alone.

If he was on this years team, he'd be playing a decent amount, but I don't think he'd be starring.

I, for one, am very happy that Matt stole RV's thunder by announcing it early. Go ahead and ruin the kid's day IMO, he ruined Matt's day.

Yes he does ... but what's that got to do with this? The man said he wanted nothing to do with. "one and dones" ...

You may be right. I thought he said something about college and being a student athlete. This thread moves too fast.

Honestly glad coached spoiled it. Really not liking unlv right now. They literally come in the recruiting process almost last and steal rv. And they literally have no reason to pick up all americans other than location

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

This is what irks me the most. UNLV is offering him something more than just a basketball scholarship in order to sweep in at virtually the last minute and persuade him to go there and ruin all the relationships he had built with Fred and Matt for 4 years. Kinda sad really.

And what will it matter if he puts up 20 a game at UNLV against absolutely horrible competition with nobody in the country even watching or caring at all? Nothing.

Just the fact that he doesn't want to challenge himself against the best in the country tells me enough about him that I'm not sure we are going to miss him that much. Every great basketball player I've ever known has wanted to compete against the best. But not RV. He's more attracted to night clubs, partying, women, etc that Vegas has to offer versus playing in the Big 12 or the ACC.

Well, the news here in Minnesota was one reason he left HS here was he didn't think he was getting enough PR and recognition against the other stellar kids in this years class. He was #1 so he left the area. I told a Husker alumni earlier today I hope he doe not slect ISU. too muc mid-man stuff going on for my tastes. I would like ISU to remain a handler-free zone.
