Not that it means a whole lot...but a lot of the crystal ball predictors are switching their predictions from ISU to UNLV.

No, they aren't. That is exactly the same as it was yesterday in regards to those two schools. Even the percentages are the same. Nice try though.

You are correct... JM tweeted this out yesterday (below). Actually I think ISU may have gained a vote as I see 58% for ISU 25% for UNLV currently.

jerry meyer switching from us yesterday to unlv is not encouraging IMO.

He also switched to us from someone else yesterday. These guys don't know, and are guessing.

I'm totally up in the air on this one. Logically you can make a pretty good argument that we should be favored, but history tells us that there is a kick to the nads coming.

Either way, Fred is taking this program to the next level one way or another. If he lands Vaughn, it would hopefully pay dividends in future recruiting, but I have no doubt that Fred will get it done with or without RV.

This year we are the ones that kick.

Reasons to come to ISU, basketball-related:

Best fan base. Bar None.
Hilton.
Solid program on the rise.
Excellent, young head coach with NBA pedigree.
Terrific NBA style sets (#SCTop10's anyone??)
Confidence in the players from entire staff. Hard work is rewarded.
#1 basketball conference (typically top 3 year over year).
Tons of exposure on prime-time TV.

Reasons to come to ISU, college-related:

Tons of degree programs to choose from.
Consistently ranked in top of accredited schools.
One of top Vet Schools in the country (RV talked about this at one point).
Beautiful campus.
Close to RV's family in MN (3 hr commute? Shorter than most AAU game commutes he did in summer league.).
Less distraction over a big city - can focus on school and basketball.
Lots to offer in Ames, or short drive to Des Moines for concerts, etc.

This is my worthless opinion and take:
1. Not afraid to do what is best for him and his goals no matter who he offends to do it. See MN.
2. Not much excitement around UNLV right now other than "hope" that next year's recruiting class saves it.
3. He sees what Fred has built and continuing to build in Ames and the excitement around the program.
4. If he wants to focus on his game, Las Vegas could be a distraction.
5. He gets a hero's welcome and a megathread about him in Ames. Other than 100 loyal fans, does Vegas even know who he is or that they have a college basketball team?

I think we got him, but I have seen crazier things happen. Hopes are high. Saturday can't come soon enough

This crystal ball thing is pretty comical. When picks are going our way we are all pumped and he is a lock. When they go the other way they are guessing and have no idea what's going on.
