How much do players hate coaches for giving them the "It'd be best if you transfer" talk?

I know nothing of this world, but if I signed to play with a coach, I'd expect loyalty even if it didn't come with playing time. I committed to you, you committed to me, etc. Wouldn't coaches get a bad rap if they're constantly telling their players to transfer out of the program? Thoughts?

I'd expect honesty. If I don't have much hope of playing time, I would want to be told that. And I don't think they would word it in the way that you suggest.

After this fall Cyclone fans needed this bad. All time high in the hope department for 2014.

CF explodes after a Vaughn commitment now. I can't even imagine the thread.

Would love to see Vaughn commit on a Saturday to see us ignore whatever ISU football game is on that day and have a 10,000 post Vaughn Commits thread

Honestly with the direction the program is going we have bigger and better things to worry about than beating EIU.
I am not worried about beating eiu, I am disappointed he won't have the opportunity to go for 25 and 15 against a team that "does it the right way"

Vaughn, thomas, morris, custer (3 x 4* + 1 x 5*[/B])....add in 2 more top 150 players in long and SDW for gravy. That is a talented and deep backcourt and tough to beat. We will have 10 solid players.

Niang was also a 4* recruit.

Thats fine. He will go to Bradley in the dying Missouri Valley conference where he will have no shot at showcasing his talents and ability unlike if he went to the Big 10 or Big 12. Seems stupid to me, but then again hes a kid and its his choice. Someone that talented wants to go to a wasteland like Bradley in a crummy conference.

Whelp... then I guess we'll get him in two years when he transfers.

Not gonna lie gostate, I laughed a little when yellowsnow replied to this. I like your point, but I was just going to say your post made it seem like someone p*ssed in your cereal :twitcy:

Having the best team doesn't mean you have the best player at every position.
His point still stands. KU is the champ until they aren't.

PS- It's damn hard to give a limb without giving over some ligaments in the transaction.

ah, the good old days when Hoiberg couldn't coach.

First he couldn't coach, then he couldn't recruit high schoolers, then he couldn't recruit PG's, then he couldn't coach or recruit post players. Hopefully the village idiots start talking about how he can't bring in top 20 talent next.

They're too busy bashing the football program right now--from CPR and the OC on down.

Hey, come to think of it...

Great get! I kinda wish that he would'a signed last year, but it works out this way. And, he'll have a year in the weight room, too! Woo hoo!

...unlike Fred who has delivered....the results by CPR deserve heavy scrutiny.

Yeah--three bowl games in four years, coming off WhatHisName, sure as heck isn't "delivering", is it?

Actually, that would be like Fred making the NCAA three out of four years (which he seems about to do), only making it to the first or second round rather than a deep run--then having a bad year.

Exact. Same. Parallel.

Not to derail the thread. At least, I HOPE that Fred isn't hit by a rash of injuries, like CPR has been. Ejim better not be the start of something bad. And whatever, McKay is a GREAT get!

No need to argue the vast difference of being 500 and going to one of the million bowl games out there < and fighting to get into the tourney.

Fred is the man and deserves every penny he gets.
