Re: Rashad Vaughn

Lol Minnesota was "in the hunt" until he moved to Vegas. Iowa State was in the hunt for Barnes until the end. He's just doing it for appearances.. He's not going to UNLV.

Well unless he wants to beat up cupcakes and lose first round of the tournament... But I think he's more competitive than that.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Rashad enjoys the attention. He's mentioned he likes the recruiting process, and well UNLV is in close and why not keep getting attention if they are next door. I'm not trying to say he doesn't have interest in UNLV, but it's suspect at the very least.

Rashad has a great relationship with Fred, and ISU coaching staff in general. He knows what Fred is capable of doing, and he knows ISU could very well become a powerhouse for years to come if Fred sticks around. He could be the start of all of it, or at least a catalyst to get the ball rolling.

He wants to be the "guy" (ISU = UNLV). He wants to have a good/great relationship with the coach (ISU > UNLV). He wants to have a chance to compete (ISU = UNLV). Wants to play the best (ISU > UNLV). Wants to go pro (ISU > UNLV - Fred has connections). Throw in convenience for his parents to watch him play, and the overall chances favor ISU.

With all this being said, by no means do I believe Rashad is 100% a cyclone. I do think we are in the top 2/3, and I think we are favored (right now). Things can and probably will change, but it's still great to be in the conversation.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

as far as the NBA, no school has an advantage. If you are good the NBA finds you. Heck UNLV has top pick last year, so I don't see ISU as having an advantage at all in that area. I think one plus for ISU is the proximity of Iowa State to his family.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Forget having a logical and sensible discussion on this board...tried it, all I got was a couple goons with no reasonable replies.

Have your field day here. Your love-fest. Your "we da best, who is u" discussion.
I'm off to the showcase. Goodluck with the rest of his recruitment.
You just said in your last post that it was your last post until Vaughn announces. You, however, continue to post. Make up your mind!

You seriously lost all credibility when you failed to contribute any valid information. You saying Vaughn has a serious injury when it was nothing at all

Since you said you were going to stop posting just a few hours before this post yet you posted again, I'm assuming you're going to keep going against your word. That must be the UNLV way!

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Anyone who doesn't think UNLV is a legit contender has been ignoring all of the latest information from recruitniks.

I'm not sure the post was attempting to evaluate the situation that way. The post was simply pointing out that Mayor has NBA experience, and knows a lot of people in the league. That has to count for something.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

How many cyclone fans are on UNLV boards talking about how we are going to land RV?

UNLV is a good basketball school with history....but if I'm a recruit, do I want to be on Big Monday against Kansas, Okie State, Texas ect.....or do I want to be playing at Air Force on a Thursday night

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Question here. Maybe not the best thread for it but I'm going to ask anyway.
Does anyone know how recruits are always able to get front row or box seats for games? This happens at every school so I'm not just calling out UNLV but I know RV was in Gucci Row last night. From my limited research these appear to be very expensive seats; maybe they don't cost for the scrimmage deal they had last night.

Anyway, I'm just wondering how this isn't a recruiting violation across the country, giving recruits the best seats in the house on unofficial visits?
Official visits I know schools are allowed to give tickets.

Honestly though what do you expect to get when you go to another schools forum?? your always going to have a couple Jackasses that are going to rip on you no matter what you say simply because your not affiliated with the team they cheer for. its just one of those things you have to brush off. Personally I never had an issue with what you were posting until you got in a ******* match with the few that were giving you a hard time. Obviously both schools are strong in the running for Vaughn's services and until he actually signs with a school, everything that gets posted or retweeted is just speculation. Apparently both schools like their chances with him and they should.

This was one of the questions I had as well. Not so much for the fact of how does it happen because lets face it... recruits received beneficial treatment from every school. Im sure there are ways to give special treatment to recruits without actually violating an NCAA rule. But what I was curious about was this... Rashad knows hes a big recruit for any school in the running with him. What better to enjoy your time in Vegas at the prep school than listing UNLV and getting special treatment around vegas. Lots going on there and there are a lot of events other benefits to receive while in Vegas. Of course it's just speculation but you gotta ask if he had someone say to him "While your in Vegas you should take advantage of the situation and see how much you can get out of it." Just a thought I had anyways.

You just don't sell those seats. Where would you expect to seat people that you're trying to impress.
I truly do love my seats in the rafters, but I don't think that hanging out with me up there is impressing anybody.
