That would be dumb.
That's part of being a student in the student section. Mass chaos, crowded, people on top of people, rushing to get good seats, etc. They're young, they can handle it. This might be the first time I have disagreed with JP.

I think that would be an awful idea. You want the packed (over-packed really) student section.

Better yet, stop being stupid with the gates and let students enter through any gate they want

Why are you the way that you are?

Well currently they cant even scan students tickets because a giant mob thunders through the gates as they open and there are probably a good amount of people getting in who dont even have tickets.

Some universities supply wristbands. If that was done then you would know which students belonged in the student section and still be able to have general admission.

They could make this better by letting them in different gates.

That's a good problem to have. Better than having no students wait in line and slowly walk to the front row just a few mins before kickoff.
And lets be honest, how many games per year does that happen? Maybe the first 2-3, depending on our opponent and the weather? If we lose it won't be a problem anymore.

Bingo.
Instead of giving students tickets, give them wristbands for each game.
No wristband? No student section.

yep, students only have themselves to blame. Doesn't seem like they can handle the freedom.

Thats a good idea, but wouldn't help the mob before games

No wristband? No student section.

What's interesting is Pollard's quote: “We’re aware of the challenges," Pollard said. "I wish there was an easy fix.”

Has he not even looked at what other universities do to solve this problem?

As long as we are winning and/or are playing a big rivalry, I don't think there is any easy solution for this. It's one of those things where being a college student is fun, you can bull rush your way to get good seats. Only the strong survive, leave the weak to fend for themselves, even if they die and are fed to the zombies.
