Have you seen how much wrong information has been spread that came from the scanners?All they had to do is listen to the scanner feed and report them as flashbangs rather than 10 minutes about being many gun shots.

Rule in the news room is NO REPORTING SCANNER TRAFFIC. It's often wrong, incomplete, or misinterpreted.

I'm gonna be honest I just use weather.com and look at the radar.
But I'm saying if the news channels used the scanners like you're suggesting they'd be spreading just as much wrong information to a much wider audience. Not that they don't spread incorrect information now, because they do, but reading straight from the scanner is not going to be any better necessarily, just faster.Still better than anything coming from TV news.
