It's not exactly an easy situation for them though. If they go too early with information people ream them if they get something wrong and if they wait too long people do the same. There's been a mountain of misinformation in this thread and others.

All they had to do is listen to the scanner feed and report them as flashbangs rather than 10 minutes about being many gun shots.

People kill the networks, then talk about how great twitter is or how great reddit is, even though they gave us pictures with the wrong guys circled and after getting that wrong, gave out names that weren't correct either. Faux outrage should be applied equally.

Supposedly the wrong names were on the scanners too. Only the networks didn't whiff on the identities.

Lots of silence. Must be going over the tactical plan.

What about the scanners mis-identifying the bombers?

Scanners also said the guy tweeting "I'm going to kill them all, they killed my brother."

Scanners have whiffed several times.

what I hate about listening to the tv is that they spew out 90% jibber jabber and 10% actual information

oh definitely, I just think that Reddit especially seems to get the correct information out faster in situations like this. You end up with people living nearby saying what is going on and it seems like incorrect info is caught faster by people wanting to be douchey and pointing out someone else being wrong.

Don't worry we'll always need weathermen.

Makes you wonder why he ever moved from where he was originally to the boat. Thought it was safe and was trying to get outside the perimeter?
