Sent this e-mail to JP and the boys.

Gentlemen,
As you are probably aware, tonight marks the 2nd time in two weeks that the ISU Men's basketball game will not be shown in the Cedar Rapids area. It is frustrating being an ISU fan in the middle of Hawkeye nation and I honestly thought that we were making some good strides in this geographic area. However, if we really want eastern Iowa to live up to our boasting that "It's a Cyclone State", then we need to be on every TV in the area whenever possible. You guys have worked hard to give the fans something to be proud of, now lets get this TV thing fixed. I don't like walking into a sports bar on game night wearing my cardinal and gold, only to find Hawkeye fans watching American Idol.
Thanks

I agree its frustrating not to be able to watch at Home on TV, but I think it's more a TV station problem then a Pollard problem. We still have the ESPN3 and bars with Direct TV option.

Email Fox 28. JP really can't do anything about it as Fox decided not to air the game in favor of American Idol. I get the decision, but they refuse to put the game on 28.2 which is compete ******* horse ****. They would rather air Nashville Hits than a local Division 1 basketball game. **** 'em.

Two weeks ago, KFXA chose AI and it was blacked out on all other stations. I was at BWW. If they can't get it, I don't know who can.

True but he can delegate somebody within the athletic department to look into this for next year. I find it very hard to believe that every tv affiliate has regular programming that is more appealing than an instate basketball team playing a conference game.

Luckily, this should be the last Big12Network Wednesday game this year.

The next 4 Saturday games are Big12Network and the next 3 weekday games are on ESPN/ESPNU.

I agree with you and it is Fox's fault. However, ESPN3 is much much better than 28.2. At least with ESPN3 you get an HD feed which can easily be viewed on your TV. I remember last year the Baylor game was on 9.3 which was SD and a terrible SD feed at that. And to make it worse, because it was actually available on TV it was blacked out on ESPN3. Given a choice between the digital alternates and ESPN3 I will choose ESPN3 every time.

Well, I don't get ESPN3 so whatevs.

And for Dish Network folks with the sports pack, we might get the second half on channel 451.

I did this two weeks ago. I have received zero response from KFXA - which frankly doesn't surprise me too much, because KFXA/KGAN strike me as profit-grubbing money whores who don't give a damn about serving the local community. They are (or were, anyway) owned by Sinclair Broadcasting, which fits right into my opinion.

But let's e-mail carpet bomb them anyway. There is zero reason, as far as I know, that they couldn't put ISU sports on 28.2. And it's absolutely ridiculous that since they have the local broadcast rights, the games are blacked out on other venues - whether or not KFXA uses their broadcast rights or not.

It seems like TV is so dang complicated now.
I wonder why the Big 12 network in CR is on Fox but in DSM it's ABC. Wonder if they can switch that?

ESPN3 blacked out at BWW as well.

Say what??? I was able to watch the last Oklahoma State game where we ran into this same situation just fine on ESPN3. I plan on watching this one too on ESPN3 and I guarantee that it won't be blacked out.

Also for people sending emails keep in mind this isn't just a CR issue I am in Waterloo, so another major city in Iowa to add fuel to the fire. I am sure there is more as well.
