he just doesn't understand that all parties need to make sacrifices. It seems like he is clinging on to the coat tails of mental health and trying to grab as much as he can get out of the rockets. He understands that there are millions suffering from anxiety yet thinks that it brings some sort of entitlement.

I can't even stand reading some of the crap that's been said here. He seemed to love ISU and gave us one heck of a season. Sure, in hindsight he might have been better off to have Fred groom him for a couple of more years but he did what he thought was the best for him and his family. If he is not happy in the NBA so be it. Money doesn't mean anything if you aren't happy. I think that he will be just fine. I would be much happier if he was on the team this year.

If he's not happy, don't play. I understand that. What I don't understand is why is it ok to bash your organization on Twitter. He looks like an ungrateful little *****.

He also has closed the door for any other player who wants to get drafted with a mental disorder. A "trooper" means you fight through the good times AND the bad to prove everyone that you can do something. He has only proven his critics were right about him. As of now, I never see him playing in the NBA.

I don't understand why he doesn't keep his mouth shut... but making mistakes is part of growing up. Look at what comes out of Lebron's mouth. NBA players aren't the most composed bunch it seems. They become very self centered in many cases.

when he linked his problem with the SHES tragedy, that should be the last straw for people supporting him. He needs to get a clue.

If royce would have handled this correctly he'd be the poster boy for mental health advocacy. Now I'm not so sure that he hasn't actually set things back. If I have mental health issues I might be more tempted to keep my mouth shut. It's sad by all definitions.

Exactly. A top 10 pick fell to 16 because teams were worried his condition would be a problem. Now that he's handled it this poorly, how far is the next guy with anxiety issues going to fall?

So pretty much everyone has turned on him? Screw that, not me!!! You'll get it figured out Royce, and its going to be that much more rewarding to prove all these naysayers wrong. Turning your back on Royce is pathetic and is a tell to your character.

Sorry Royce, I don't understand your disability. I don't think I could unless I had it or maybe if I was around someone who did. I do understand disabilities. I have been disabled for many years and while mine is a physical disability and not a mental one I do see some similarities. I would much rather deal with a physical disability or pain rather than mental disability or mental pain. The hardest part for me is trying to understand what you're trying to bring attention to. I don't know what you want people to understand without you pointing it out to me. I don't see what positive has come out about your condition in the way that you are handling it. I remember at tournament time last year when you weren't on twitter and you were playing your game and doing interviews the amount of positive things that was being talked about by the national media was huge and doing wonderful things for enlightening the public of your condition. I would never suggest you play in the NBA for the money if you weren't happy. Money will never replace the happiness and peace of mind that you can have if you do what you want in your life. It might be time to make some hard decisions in your life. Whether you or I or anybody else has a disability the world is not going to lay down and let your dictate how others live their lives. I wish you well.

I have bad character because I won't support a person who won't work for something? You can't just walk into a place and expect everyone to get on their knees for you. I would have way more respect for the guy if he would have played in the d-league and showed everyone off.

I don't think I've seen a more unprofessional, childlike display of stupidity in professional sports than what Royce White is doing right now. I don't know what it's like to have a mental health problem, but I feel Royce milks it for all it's worth and then some.

I would say the one turning their back here is Royce. He's shown no effort to try and work with or through any of his personal issues or with anyone associated with his team. Seems that with his anxiety disorder, he has a lot of spoiled brat.

Royce has made a big difference in tolerance, awareness, sensitivity, and the public's perception of mental illness > i.e. Anxiety.

But at some point there is diminishing returns. Past supporters of Royce have been tuning him out...and will continue

....making his illness less relevant

If you saw all the joy and positive things he brought to the University and community the past two years and then turn your back on him while he struggles mightily at the next stage in his life, then yes, you have some bad character.

Bull.

If there are any tells to one's character here it is the tells that are showing to Royce's character. No one is turning their back on Royce for his time at ISU, or what he did for the school, or how he was then a credit/role model to the anxiety/mental illness cause when he was here. In fact, the way he was at ISU is what makes this whole thing now so perplexing.

Many on here did still support him even during the early stages of his time in the NBA. We all were hoping he would get things worked out with the Rockets and start playing ball. But he hasn't done that. It appears he is making very little effort to resolve his situation with the team.

Granted, the NBA is much different than college ball, but still......it seems the demands Royce is making on the Rockets go to an extreme. Demands that he was not even close to making in college.......yet he managed to give a pretty stellar performance at ISU. He is on social media constantly criticizing his employer.....the only team in the first 15 of the NBA that had a pick that were willing to take a shot on him......thanks in no small part to the efforts of his college coach, and the relationship that coach had the Rocket's coach.

What Royce is doing is not advancing his cause at all. In fact, his actions are validating the very people that would not take a chance on him because of his anxiety and mental illness.

This last bit, with his "statement" was the last straw for me. When he stupidly attempted to somehow link his anxiety/mental illness with the Sandy Hook attack that saw over 20 innocent children murdered......that was just too much. That was despicable to me, and I think to many others. At that point......yes.......Royce lost my support.

You can choose to still support him even after something like that if you like. I won't.
