Royce refuses to play in D League

Obviously the kid is having some major issues. How we got him through two years is beyond belief.

Bball is business and he should not be surprised management says when and where to play. Doctors only make their recommendations. In this case, they might say he cannot do road games, but physically the Rockets need a full time player.

I'm happy with what he did for us and our program, but I've hit a point of apathy towards him and his cause. Everything is over-sensationalized and he's not handling any of it well.

Thanks for the two years Royce, but not sure if I want to consider you part of cyclONEnation anymore.

He'll be remembered well in a few years. Just like Tinsley, who was paid to stay away from his NBA team, is. It's just going to take some time.

Fred must for all intents and purposes be a great psychologist for how mentally unstable RW has been before and after his time in Ames

I dont feel sorry for him anymore. I dont know all the details, but it just seems like he never tried to compromise with the Rockets.

Well, if Fred's coaching career doesn't pan out, we know he'd be a great Psychologist.
How he was able to get RW to stick around for 2 years and lead us to an NCAA tourney win is nothing short of a miracle.

Speculation:

Fred is the primary reason how and why he prospered at ISU.

He has found that the NBA isn't to his liking. Kevin McHale at took an extended leave of absence from Houston early on and Royce's connection through Fred was gone. By the time Kevin McHale returned, Royce had changed and he's not committed to the league.

Perhaps there was a reason they didn't want him around anymore. In hindsight, how they got through 2 seasons may have been a bigger miracle than we realized.

With all due respect - screw you Royce. Take your mental health issues, earn minimum wage somewhere you have to wear a hairnet, and argue with THEM about your mental health. Find a nice bridge and tweet until you have lost EVERY last person that saw something special in you.

Spoiled child.

When I think of RW its mostly a "what if he stayed" like Fizer.
Im sure his anxiety problem is serious to him. What he'll learn soon is that in the real world nobody cares about your problems. It's a job and if you can't do it then there's no use for you. I'm sure he'll get it in a few years but wasting his big chance will cost him millions.
Also this makes Fred look like some sort of dreamy basketball wizard in my eyes. Like Bill Snyder but for basketball and super dreamy.
