Such a waste. Seems like he started acting like and expecting to be treated like a Diva before he was anybody. Hope he straightens out at some point, he's got kids to be an example for.

See Tinsley did this thing called playing basketball in the NBA. Royce hasn't done that so far.

To listen to this board you'd think Tinsley was a bench warmer for a couple seasons and chronic felon.

Outside of Hornecek he has the best career NBA stats of any player ISU (and Iowa) has ever produced. He's still cashing a check over a decade later. At this point in his career compared to Royce he had at least one triple double.

I blame it mostly on just the general lack of knowledge about NBA basketball.

I lost respect for Royce White after the last round of this, around Thanksgiving I think. Now I don't even want to claim him as a Cyclone.

The most frustrating part of all of this is that whenever anyone challenges him he just responds with some variation of "you obviously don't understand mental health issues." Ok Royce, we get that you think anyone who questions you has no knowledge of mental illness. Now teach us what we don't understand instead of just parroting the same lame response over and over.

I feel like he used ISU. Got here, nutted up for two years just so he could get his platform. Then all of sudden, he doesn't like that the NBA calls his shots and he's not super special to them. Then he tries to get playing time by saying that would help his "condition." Screw that. Give me 100 Melvin Ejims over Royce.

If we had 100 Melvin Ejim's... We could have a new set of five guys to go after every dead ball... We would, literally, be unbeatable

Wouldn't we run out of scholarships? Or would we use our 2016 scholarships in advance and just punt that year?

It's not 100, but here's 5 Melvin Ejims for your enjoyment:

We could use the extra Melvin Ejims as assistant coaches and to serve clone cones at Hilton.

Not defending Royce, but for those claiming miracles or that Fred is a soothsayer for making Royce work here....remember, he had a year to adjust to the town/situation/environment where he didn't have to produce, just play some ball with the practice squad and get his stuff straight.

The two places he was required to be productive right away (Minne, Houston), he flopped.

This is essentially what I was going to come in and post. He played nice guy here, knowing he wasn't going to get a paycheck anywhere in pro basketball (NBA or otherwise) if he went full-on crazy at ISU. Went and got that paycheck and now suddenly everyone is out to get him and he acts like he should have an NBA starting position handed to him without attending camp OR practices.

"Hey, my anxiety won't be so bad if you just start me." Oh, OK, we'll just let you start and play with 4 other guys who have extremely limited chemistry with you since you won't come to practice or talk to anyone. Nut up and check in with your D-League team and get on the ******* court.

I'm done. I no longer associate Royce with ISU basketball.

I don't think he used ISU anymore than ISU used him. Fred had a ton invested in Royce, he was a huge risk-reward type of player. Fred had evry reason to want him to succeed, the Rockets don't and I don't think Royce is used to being treated like an expendable player. I would be curious to know how much baby sitting Fred had to two in Royce's two years at ISU.

My kids love Royce White...they have been asking about him all year long and can't understand why he won't be a Cyclone anymore.

Royce needs to realize that although his goal was to help build awareness of mental health issues...he's probably set the mental illness community back about 50 years with all his bull ****.

If you had reservations about hiring someone with a mental illness before...and you've paid more than 3 minutes of attention to this train wreck...I doubt there is a chance in hell you'd ever consider someone you knew had mh issues.

Rockets should sue him for breach of contract.

I'm guessing that's probably what the latest D-League assignment is about.

Rockets probably knew he wouldn't go, but want to start to get things formally set up to show him in breach.

Edit: What Linden said.
