Ok, I'm a little bored and was wondering something after watching the bowl games...

If we made a BCS bowl or some higher level bowl game (i.e. cotton bowl) how many tickets do you think we would sell for the game?

I think if the school organized a massive transportation effort, we could get a lot of people to go.

whatever we were alloted we would sell out easy then some i bet we could get close to 40,000 for a BCS bowl

I don't know about 40,000 that is assumming 4/5 of our normal ticket holders will pay for the trip to go. I think I would say closer to 20k maybe 30k but I would go with the lower.

But you'd also get alumni who are in other states who aren't able to purchase season tickets.

Insight.com bowl + 10% = BCS showing. So ~40K and that would be a lower number imo.

We'd get more than we did for the Insight Bowl I'm sure. I mean, how often does ISU get to a BCS bowl game? No brainer that a lot more people would go to that just because it might be awhile before we did it again.

I dunno, we could not even get 35k to see ISU have a chance at the big12 championship, so I say 30k would be it.

Apples and Oranges.

I go ballistic when squakies bring that up. And I like Brian too much to go into my rant on the subject.:daydreaming:

I'd say it all really depends on the weather.

With hell having frozen over I can't imagine that traveling conditions would be all that good.

Any BCS bowl would easily draw 40,000 minimum because
1) we would be a really good team and
2) location, location, location!!
All BCS blows are in great winter destinations (compared to the cold).

I think the Fiesta would draw 40,000+ easliy because of the number of alumni who live in Arizona. The Sugar (New Orleans), Rose (sunny Cal), and Orange (Florida) would probably draw equally as well because of location (especially the Sugar). Can you imagine how many Cyclones would go to a bowl game in New Orleans!

30,000??? Are you guys serious? There were at least 30,000 in the seats in Phoenix for the Insight Bowl and probably 20,000 for each Independence Bowl. My guess is 40,000 easy and probably closer to 45k or 50k. With all the misery we've been through people would be coming out of the woodwork for a game like that. Comparing our home attendance numbers to future bowl attendance possibilities doesn't really work.

After seeing Mizzou get hosed and not get a BCS game after the season they had, I have a hard time picturing ISU ever making a BCS game.

Back to the real question, I think ticket sales would be massive since it is not something that has been seen. I'd say we could do 40K.

And you think people get crazy drunk at home games can you imagine people on Bourbon Street!
