You will lose all credibility if you mention Dane Cook. Unless it's along the lines of "Who in the world thinks this guys is funny?"

He's funny. He has crap material, but he's funny. Mostly because he's a good performer, not because he's a great comedian.

And obviously a LOT of people think that guy is funny, since he has a platinum album and a double platinum album.

I have also enjoyed Ray Romano. Hes not the typical comic, he tends to use more at home material I find funny. Bob Saget is surprisingly funny as well. That guy is dirty! Get a kick out of the old material of Robin Williams as well.

Seinfeld is one of the few comedians that doesn't need to swear to be funny. That takes talent these days. I've seen him a couple of times and I laughed so hard my sides hurt. He is definitely one of my favorites.

Those are two of my favorites. I would have loved to have seen them when they toured together.

Have you ever seen the Lisa Lampenelli specials after midnight on Comedy Central. They make me laugh, but make me cringe at the same time.

Comedians of Comedy is freaking awesome. If you don't already have Brian Posehn's Nerd Rage and Patton Oswalt's Werewolves and Lollipops albums, you NEED to get them.

Lisa Lampenelli is one of those people who makes you feel uncomfortable for laughing so hard at her stuff. I think it's brilliant.

Dan Cooks "God Bless you" & "smelly markers" pieces are hilarious, and I saw him when he came for Tourgasm to Ames a few years back and it was great. I also love Jim Gaffigan's work, his "behind the pale" comedy central special was so amazing I went and bought it on DVD.

Jeffrey Ross's stuff at the friar's club roasts kills me everytime. Greg Giraldo and Jim Gaffigan are two great ones as well. I think my two, all-time favorite comics are Mitch Hedberg and Steven Wright. Wright is the type of guy that he's so weird, you know he has to be brilliant

Steven Wright classics:

"I built myself a new house...I used balsa wood. So whenever the neighbor kids p*ss me off, I pick my house up and threaten to throw it at them."

"Went to the store today and bought some used paint...it was in the shape of a house."

"I bought some batteries, but they weren't included, so I had to buy them again"

I think Brian Regan is another great one who doesn't use the blue room material. Went and saw him a month or so ago at Hoyt Sherman in Des Moines. It was great.

I have two very rare photographs.
One is a picture of Houdini locking his keys in his car.
The other is a rare photograph of Norman Rockwell beating up a child.
-- Steven Wright

I stayed up all night playing poker with tarot cards.
I got a full house and four people died.
-- Steven Wright

I used to work in a fire hydrant factory.
You couldn't park anywhere near the place.

When Frank Caliendo did his standup, the is the only time I actually get a pain in my side from laughing so much.

Everybody has a right to their own opinion. I respect your opinion. But that is a horrible opinion.

So take away Kramer (based on a guy who was Larry David's neighbor) and George (based largely on Larry David) and what do you have left?

Jerry and Elaine. Tell me that's any different than any of the other thousands of formulaic comedies that have been on TV in the last 50 years.

Are you kidding? First, Jerry wrote ths show with Larry, he doesnt just show up and read lines. Second, what freakin show in the world is any good if you take away half of the characters? Seriously. By this argument you have to be what, Eddie Murphy and play all of them before you get credit for making the show funny? You don't have to like Seinfeld. Not everyone does, but keep trying to find reasons why nobody else should like him and to say every other hack that made you giggle is better makes you sound like some type of killjoy with a grudge. Seinfeld is funny and one of the most successful comics of all time, learn to live with it.
