I think it's hit and miss with him and his movies. "Billy Madison" and "Happy Gilmore" have their own unique charm to them, even if they are a bit silly. I really enjoyed "The Wedding Singer" more than any of other movies. I do agree that his most recent movies aren't quite as good as his earlier stuff.

I thought Funny People was a good movie, but it wasn't a good comedy which I thought it was going be.

I thought that movie was excellent and I had hoped he would make a transition to more of that type of acting. I thought he was great in his role there.

I had the same hope...he's really not a bad actor, and his more serious movies show that. Reign over me, Spanglish, and Punch-Drunk Love are my favorite Sandler movies. Probably also because I'm not in high school anymore. I did think Billy Madison was funny at the time...but now he's basically the same character with the same voice in the same kind of movie. Hashtag annoying.

I'm in the minority that thinks a majority if his movies are pretty funny. However, I can tell from the previews whether I'm going to like it or not. There was no chance of me going to see Jack and Jill. That just looks stupid. The rest I have seen and plan to see the new one and I enjoyed most of them.

I think part of it, for me, is that I out grew his humor. I'm not in Jr high anymore... Same with will farrell.

The bigger problem is Hollywood itself. If they need a comedian, plug these guys in. Both are funnier when playing smaller roles like Will farrell was awesome in old school.

The problem is they keep doing the same damn thing over and over. It gets old.

I will say I really enjoyed Step Brothers, however.

I agree with you which doesn't happen to often.

I have liked most of his movies but I knew what kind of movie to expect. I will probably not watch Jack and Jill unless it is on tv and I don't have anything better to do. Many of his comedies I could watch over and over again like Happy Gilmore, Waterboy, Billy Madison, Little Nicky, Mr. Deeds, and Big Daddy.

Just please tell me none of you liked Grown Ups.

I didn't think it was terrible and I'll watch it if it's on TV. It kind of had that Ocean's 11 feel where you can tell everyone enyojed making the movie.

I did have a hard time rooting for Sandler's character because he came off like a huge ****.

The difference being, IMO, Ocean's 11 had way better actors. While Kevin James and Sandler have their moments, they aren't the best actors.

I agree 100%, but it's cool to watch a movie where you can tell everyone is friends. With any other actors Grownups would have been unwatchable.

1. Billy Madison - great stupid fun
2. The Wedding Singer - probably his only legitimately high quality movie while still delivering a lot of the same stupid fun
3. Happy Gilmore - stupid fun
4. Waterboy - stupid fun
5. Anger Management - a few funny key parts and Jack steals the movie obviously
6. Zohan - reeeeeeally bad acting in parts but some hilarious physical comedy like the scene where he swims like a dolphin

I pretty much hated the attempts at serious movies. I also hated quite a few of the other comedies. Guy makes a ton of money, there's a big audience for it.
