about this website is that reputation stuff. Someone comes on here and voices their opinion about whatever... the team, the site, another site, owners, admins, whatever, and whoever... People disagree give "negative" reputation points. I'd like to ask the all mighty moderators what purpose this serves other than make people think that their opinion and ideas aren't good and they are unwelcome?

Besides that and the God-complex some people have, it's a well organized, up to the minute, and very nice site and I'm glad it is available.

Nice job MadCy. From a purely fan interaction point of view it serves it's purpose, but when the admin tells us that we should respect all opinions and you have a device that allows tearing down of those opinions, something that is obviously not monitored, you have a break down. There are also to many cheifs in the teepee and a few don't follow their own guidelines.

Well, it's up to each user how they treat rep points. As far as seeing them, some may pay a lot of attention to it, some not at all and then some in the middle.

When granting rep points, it's the same - could be you just don't like someone so you give them negative rep, or vice versa. Or, and this is how I hope it's being used - when someone makes a superior point, reputation should be granted.

Now, disagreeing with someone is not a reason to give negative rep. IMO. When someone posts something completely ridiculous, rude, etc - that's a perfect reason to consider giving negative rep points.

See, I disagreed with you and did nothing to your rep! ;)

I'm just posting to see my current rep level. :) Never noticed mine or anyone elses. Never cared and never will.

I agree somewhat with your comments on the reputation scale...and there have been discussions regarding it. Don't want anyone thinking they are not welcome.

sorry about my god-complex...but when one is filthy with cash..a collection of blazing fast autos..and Tara Ried nibble bites about my body....it is hard not to look down upon the board dwellers

Your rep is a collection of what any one user thinks of each post. I have a bunch of positives and a bunch of negatives. One comment, one post, or one thought isn't going to drive your rep unless you post very infrequently.

Plus...no one gets bonus points for having lots of rep points. They mean nothing. It's just amusing to see others rep. But in some cases it's a good indication of a poster...ie. BryceC posts a ton of good stuff and has a very high rep.

I would never leave rep because I disagree with someone, that's just dumb.

Monkey...monkey...monkey....

We need to work on your definition of "working my way up".

See...Tara Ried > Paris Hilton

Scarlett Johanson (sp) > Tara Ried

Don't make me put a hit on your rep for this foolish nonsense!

do you think it would be better to "hit it" (yank slang!)with lil' Kim instead following Tara? after all..she just got released from the slam and is most surely desperate for my god given pillow moves.

either way...I am just biding my time until Bonnie Hunt responds to my numerous voicemails. I have a burning desire for blond..sassy..middle-aged yank comedians

You take the older American girls and I like the younger british girls...ahhh, Kiera Knightley.

I fully understand the pros and cons people have with the rep level scoring. I personally don't look at people's rep level but I understand that some people do quite a bit and may or may not judge people's contribution level based on their "score". I will start a new thread with a poll regarding the rep level and we'll let the power of the people decide it's fate. If you like it, vote so, if not, vote so.

Regardless of the topic, I do appreciate the feedback as it's the only way I can improve the site. Thanks!!

I will give her to you mate....she is a cutie..but currently..a sack of bones...one of those razor-sharp elbows will cut you while wrestling about.

(I was curiously aroused when she was in "boy" drag in POTC2 however...should I worry about that?)

I'm not going to touch the boy comment...She is all skin and bones but I keep a mental picture of her from the first POTC.

And she sure has a potty mouth...and I find that hot.

I absolutely gouged the team last week and my rep level is sky high. Who knows.

Overall, it's meaningless, other than I like to check to see who is upping my rep and what they are saying about my posts.
