Don't be fooled by these hybrid balls. They only delay what we know will happen. Not sure why I even bothered trying.PM me I can get you in contact with someone who refurbishes found softballs and are much cheaper some are almost like new.Originally Posted by mike4cy So I went to Sports Authority last week to look at softballs for our upcoming season and the price has skyrocketed from like $4.99 (last year) to $7.99 per ball! WTH happened? I plan to buy a box of a dozen of them somehwhere but nearly $8.00 per ball seems pretty outlandish to me. It is the same ball too, not like they are different in any way, shape or form. Anyone have suggestions for a fellow Fanatic?
ABORTTTTT!!!!!!
I'm not saying I'm a hero...although the OP should be given partial credit, I couldn't have done it without him. This may be a record for a thread derailment....didn't even make it one post lol

Well to be fair the entire premise of the thread was pretty ridiculous. Why do things cost more now than they did in the past? There wasn't a real answer to be given, but we had a laugh, you got in contact with a guy, we all win.Negative rep is needed so badly around here. At least I got one legit reply out of the whole lot.
I've got a couple extra in my trunk. Not that it helps much.

You didn't really just say that you've got a couple of extra balls in your trunk, did you?

I'm sorry, but someone already pointed out weather, demand and political unrest in another country. Those are always the reasons for inflation you know.

Oh come on the responses you got were pretty funny.
