SC has NEVER been a good defender - that has ALWAYS been the knock on him. Why are people expecting anything different this year? He is GREAT spot up shooter, that is about all though. Ejim is still trying to figure out his place on this team. The others are all new and think that they have to do everything on their own. We are dealing with transfers that sat out all of last year just watching the games and waiting for their chance. Now they are trying to prove something.

You know, i like the not so pessimistic you.

I think the Scotty at PG thing is blown way out of proportion. Essentially all our guards do the same things, Scotty being announced as the PG shouldn't change the way he gets involved in the game. Its on Freddie and Co to make him part of the offense.

No its not. You need a true PG to run the show, create, and show composure when things are going bad.

This is worse than the Wayne Morgan era.

Both Morgan and Hoiberg could get talented players, they both look like they could care less on the sidelines, both didn't run any kind of offense, BUT at least Morgan's teams pressed like crazy and played defense.... this team does not.

Someone mentioned it in another thread but another big problem was that Drake controlled the tempo. They used their time outs in the right spots. We never got out and ran but maybe 2 or 3 times and only 1 that I can remember came off.

Sigh...I loved watching the press like crazy thing...

If we have a good team, this loss will end up being a wake up call and we will be stronger for it. If we don't, well then, I guess we just got exposed early.

I think this sums it up pretty well.

My in-game emotions have worn off...now I'm mostly just sad. I had really thought this would be the year we'd start to get rewarded for all the suffering we put up with the past five years. Still a chance it happens...but tonight was really bad.

Correct. With a PG... we beat Drake by 48 pts. Without one, we lose by 9.

Only a 57 pt difference.

With as weak as our non conference is this lost just cost us an wiggle room we ever could have had. We lose again to a weak team and we are already in trouble in terms of making the tourny. Freaking sucks.

Thanks coach for taking responsibility for that.

The team plays like it's coach I'm afraid. Fred looked like he couldn't have cared any less tonight.

I don't think he needs to be like Bob Knight or anything, but at least try to get the guys fired up a bit.

Wow, I realize it's one game, but we're screwed if they play like that again.
-White is good, hopefully we find away to limit his time on the court (or maybe someone else gets some stats) or he'll be a 20 and 10 guy that we only get 1 year.
-Allen apparently has never gotten the memo that you should stop shooting well before you go 2 for 13 and 0 for 7 from 3 point range, some times it's not your night. I realize he's hurt, but not realizing you're shooting 15% and chucking up that many shots is unforgivable for a sr.
-Ejim appears to be a Freshman stuck in a Sophomore's body who doesn't really have a possition.
-McGee, Booker, and Babb are solid role players but can't take over.
-Christopherson is a minus defender that can shot 3's period
-Bubu is a walk on.

This smells a lot like a 13 to 17 win team, crap I feel like I just learned Santa Claus isn't real. I would almost give our football team better post season odds at this point - almost.

****! End Rant.

I think he wanted to explode but he didn't want to get T'ed up and then we lose by 1. It was too close to get a T he had to zip his lip. He showed a lot of class and poise because those 3 offensive fouls on White were BS.

Maybe if we hired a real basketball coach we would win games. I don't care what you all say. I wanted a coach. Not a player. I'll burn my season tickets. how about you teach rebounding and free throws? We won't win with him. And if you think we will. Then keep dreaming. If drake is a good team, then you're wrong

ummm shutup

Ya I'm sure when we pull an upset, everything will be fine, christ you're worse than Clones21 when it comes to melt down, you always find the negatives in EVERYTHING!!!

Tough loss, but long season. We'll harness the good stuff and you all will be happy. Gotta stick with the team win or lose. Let's show them how great Hilton can be Sunday.
