I don't think you said anything that was inaccurate. Its true we're currently unstable at the point guard position until we find the solution. I think people are ignoring the idea that a guy like Scotty playing the point will struggle against athletic pressure defense in conference play. He might not turn it over much, but if we're intiating our offense from 25 feet out vs. 20 feet out that will cause us some major problems.
Had I said that he said anything wrong, your defense would make more sense.
The point is that it is a problem, and an area of weakness for this team, but the fact that we should be able to initiate offense from more than just the pg position this year should alleviate some of the problem.
It seems that you are stuck in the mindset of positions, and their traditional responsibilities. We don't have the traditional "1" this year, and that could be a real problem.
But we also have a "4" a "3" and a "2" that can initiate offense, and that could very well alleviate some of that problem. We also have enough good ballhandlers that we should be able to break presses as well.
Plus, and it seems that this is also not being mentioned, getting into the lane against a defense is also about offensive spacing. If we do a good job of that, the lanes to penetrate will be bigger, and therefore easier to make plays from. And, I think we will see a lot of Royce directing offense from the block.
All I am saying is that why don't we at least wait a month before we melt down. It was an exhibition game, big time schools lose these games all the time now.
